The colonial period was an important time period in our history because it shows the origins of our unique culture. Since each of the colonies were founded for different reasons and had various climates, it had a great impact on the way of life in each of the regions. The colonies of Massachusetts and Virginia are prime examples of this because they were completely different in terms of society and economy. Their contrasting climates and geographical regions forced them to develop in different ways.…
L.M. Montgomery once stated “..we pay a price for everything we get or take in this world..”. In other words Montgomery is saying that the choices we make in life, whether they be good or bad, always have consequences. Two literary works that help support this quote is To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck.…
The first four commandments focus on the relationship between man and God. They command man to revere God and worship Him only. Further, the Sabbath day should be honored as the day a man focuses on their creator. On the other hand, the other six, focus on the relationship between man and another. The emphasis is that people should live harmoniously with one another, thus eliminating vices such as murder, stealing, disrespect, adultery, coveting and bearing false witnesses (Exodus 20, King James Version).…
The Question of Origin-The Secular Humanism believe that life on earth is just a coincidence. They believe that earth just created itself 4.5 billion year ago out of no were. Humans and everything else on earth came to exist through a combination of chemicals that formed together over billions of years and gave us what we have today. (Weider, L., & Gutierrez, B. 2011).…
All over the world, millions of people are suffering daily. Unfortunately, many of them do not know Christ and/or don’t have a way to get to know Him. The fortunate few are able to pray and believe that God will help them get through their sufferings and that He knows what His best for them. They know that God has a plan for them and they should trust in Him with all of their needs. Unfortunately, some of those who don’t know God have resorted to taking their own lives because they felt like there was no one listening to them. In the Great Depression, so many people felt like no one was listening to them or hearing them and felt like they needed to die. In World War I and World War II, families started to become depressed when their family…
A worldview is made up of various parts. How we interpret the world around us, why we believe we exist, why we behave as we do; our answers and responses to these create our worldviews. A biblical worldview is the only worldview that makes sense because it leaves no missing links. All of our questions and curiosity can be simply answered, or solved, by establishing and living out a life of integrity through a Biblical worldview.…
For example, having money is something that we all desire. Grudem clarifies that “while the love of money is evil, money itself is not inherently good or evil. Money is nothing more than a medium of exchange. Money provides people the opportunity to purchase something in God 's creation. In order to accurately and biblically take hold of this opportunity, one must begin with the foundation that nothing is owned unconditionally, but is simply given out by a benevolent God. Once realizing nothing is totally owned, only given by God, one sees that God is incomprehensibly wealthy and that having money is not…
In Brave New World it shows many different advances and beliefs than what we’re used to. I will be stating a few of these examples such as the differences in technology and how different they live, and what they believe in.…
I have always known throughout my whole life that I am a Christian, but I never actually new just how important it is to have and know my Worldview. I have also known that there were more Worldviews than the Christian Worldview, but I never knew how different their beliefs were. I grew up in a Baptist church and about 2 years ago I began exploring the Jehovah’s Witness, or JW religion; however, I am still part of the Christian Worldview because I believe in God as my creator. Even though I knew that God was my creator, I never believed everything that I learned from the Baptists version of the Holy Bible. When I started reading the New World Translation I knew that this was what I believed and I began living my life according to the ethics and morals from this version of the Bible. The three components that make up my Worldview are ultimate reality, human nature, and ethics because they shaped my thoughts, experiences, education, and life decisions.…
Foundational to the Christian faith is the belief that mankind is created in the image of God. Genesis 1:27 says, "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them." Teachers are responsible for educating the minds of young children. Elementary teachers begin the process of years of education, and many times are the basis for the attitudes of young children toward school. They should teach that all are created in the image of God so they should treat everyone as equal, base teachings on the fruits of the spirit, and be responsible for discipline.…
In short, a worldview is “the framework of beliefs by which a person views the world around him” (Caner & Hindson, 498). Coined by Prussian philosopher, Immanuel Kant, it originally translated as “our intuition of the world” but later came to be known as worldview. However, a worldview cannot be summed up in just one sentence. Every person has a worldview, or a philosophy of life. Each person has a filter, or a lens, they use when making decisions. This is based on personal experiences and should also be based on truth, logic, and evaluation. The problem with varying worldviews is not every person or society uses truth, logic, and evaluation to form one.…
The three components that make up my Christian worldview are God, ethics, and knowledge because they have molded my thinking, life experiences, accompanied with a wealth of knowledge through education and life decisions.…
The three primary components of my personal worldview are God, spiritual knowledge, and ethics - because they strongly influence all my thoughts, experiences, and life decisions. Putting God first in my life is sometimes rather difficult. It’s probably the most difficult thing for any Christian person to do. However, it’s probably meant to be difficult as a testimony of faith. God has great wisdom to impart to each one of us, but we must always put him first in our lives if we are to reap the benefits. As I’ve learned to view my life from God 's eternal perspective it became easier to understand what will last for eternity and what will be destroyed. My belief in a loving and forgiving God plays an important role in my daily life.…

The three tests which are described in the text are the coherence test, correspondence test, and practical tests. In order for a worldview to be considered a sound one, it must pass all three tests, without conflict. By examining my own worldview through these three tests, and using the questions from part one, I found that my worldview is valid, but only from an aspect that the tests conclude and the overall beliefs that I hold.…
