Fate of Wish and Death-Flashback Essay
Writing technique : Flashback

The surroundings were bright, chairs were set around the round hexagon-like room, it was neither small nor big, it was average. No one knew how it was built or even when it was built. Ahhh… The aroma of the tea. The aroma moves swiftly across the room. I lift up the tea gently as I took a small sip. 'I wonder what kind of broken fragment that fate will show to me today,' I giggled cruelly. 'Ahhh, she's already here,' I giggled again as I looked outside the window and place the teacup on the table gently. I walked passed the door through the corridor. A young girl wearing a hood enters the shop with a nervous look. 'I didn't mean to bother,' she bows with a panicking look. 'It's okay, if you are here means that you have a wish, What is your wish?' I smiled as I offered my hand to her. 'I …'

The smell of strawberry tingles my nose. The coldness of the surrounding makes me feels like I am flying. It's cold… Really cold… cold… Am I dead?! I force my eyes to open and fell down face to face on the floor. 'Ouch…' I growled with a painful voice. I carefully touch my face with one hand and the other touching the cold floor, ouch… it hurts… As I tried to stand up, I accidentally stand on my long dark brown hair and slip, consciously, again, the floor kissed my face. 'OUCH!!' I cried out loud. I looked up to the clock which was hung on the wall, 7.40a.m. Suddenly, it struck me, 'SCHOOL STARTS AT 7.45!!! I am going to be late!!!' I quickly rush to get myself ready and rush down the stairs. I glance at the clock on the kitchen, it shows 7.43. OH NO!!! I quickly ran out the apartment and ran to school, I am going to be late!!! School takes about 10 minutes walk and about 5 minutes if I run. I quickly ran and ran. I reached the gate by 7.49 as I glance at my watch. I quickly ran to my classroom and sneaks in the classroom. 'Going anywhere? Ms. Late Princess Lacie Klein,' my homeroom teacher, Ms. Layla called out to me. I sweat drop a little,

32 “Well its actually happening ma’, I’m goin’ back to school.”Rufus said. “I want you to know, I truly am proud of you Rufus.” His mother replied. Curtis and Janet went to a different school then Rufus but he still walked them to school then walked himself to school. On his way to school a car followed him very slowly but Rufus kept walking. When he got to school it looked the same on the outside that it always had. Rufus pushed open the doors at Searingtown School and yelled “I’m back!” All of his friends ran over to hug him. He went down to the office to get a tour he thought he didn’t need because he remembered every single solitary thing about this place. While the tour was going on everything going on was a blur. He looked left, right and left again, admiring the changes the school had made. “Wow” he sighed. “Is there a problem Rufus?” the tour guide asked. Rufus answered, “When I was here the wall paint was all chipped, there were broken windows and holes in the walls.” “Oh ok, well that concludes our tour and this door on your right is your first period class.” The tour guide replied. Rufus walked in and sat at an available seat at the back of the class room. He opened his notebook and took notes even though he didn’t understand anything that was going on. By the time 5th period came around it was time for lunch he was starving. All of his friends called him over and asked him to sit with him. Momma didn’t make him a big lunch because they didn’t have that much food in the house and then needed to split it 3 different ways. Allison who used to have a big crush on Rufus sat right next to him. Mitchell and Charlie sat across from him and Christina, Alisha and Sammy sat around them. When the bell rang he went to his locker and when he got to class he looked out the window and saw the same car that followed him to school. The only person he thought of was Simon. But he didn’t have a car? Rufus ran to the office to explain the…

Judy just wanted some sugar for her coffee. She flitted back and forth between cabinets and drawers, leaving them open as she went along busily searching for that sugar. “Where could it have possibly gone?” she half mumbled to herself, “I just used it the other day.” As she reached behind the box of cornstarch, the honey container tipped over and started oozing onto the counter that was already cluttered with piles of unopened mail, a plate with a half eaten, moldy sandwich, and a variety of orange and white medicine bottles. Distracted by the sound of the door bell ringing, Judy went to answer the door. Her daughter flew in, irritation in her voice, “Mom. Aren’t you ready yet? I’ve been calling you.”…

So I went outside and hopped onto the fence to stare at the valley, then I hopped back down to play with my dog and before I knew it my dog had ripped a tear into it and just like that the jacket was ruined. So I was somewhat happy but what I had forgotten was that I had to go to school with that ugly jacket, because mom didn’t want me ruining it the first week. So I did and before I knew it, my friends were making fun of me, or so I thought. Even the nice girls wouldn’t talk to me, but that’s maybe not the reason. So maybe I should try and play something to get my mind off it, but what I knew was the jacket was still on and it would stay on for the rest of the week. But with a bunch of anger he knew in his head that he had another jacket after all. That other jacket was so nice that he couldn’t stop thinking of it, his teacher had to wake him up from daydreaming so much. But then just like that the week was over and he rushed home, threw on the jacket and right away, faster than a cheetah he flew out the front door off to school, and straight away when he got to school, he became the most popular kid…

What I meant by go tell the teacher was go get help but I didn’t say that. He didn’t say anything he just ran off. I should get up he’s probably not going to come back, I thought. To get out you had to crawl through one of the hexagon holes. I could barely even get to my hands and knees but once I did, I could only crawl with one arm. Once I got out I had to use the bubble to help me stand up. I started out walking slowly I had to keep my balance. I was so dizzy, I felt like I was going in circles while was walking. I had just made it on time to go back inside before they closed the…

My mom leaned down and kissed my cheek, she told me to have a good day and reassured me we would get ice cream together after school. As my mom started to walk away my tantrum began. I could not fathom being away from my mom for an entire day! Tears began stinging my eyes as my mom’s figure faded into the distance. My classmates’ figures began to blur as tears spewed down my face and into my open, screaming mouth. The taste of salt from my tears only fueled the fire that began burning inside of me and intensified my…

Grace nodded slowly, with a private smile, stirring her coffee a few times before barking out a delighted laugh. The past is a place that can be visited easily enough, Jane thought, watching Grace smile wickedly through the retelling, enjoying her decades-old trick with a fresh glee. How shortly after receiving these vivid little jewels she had placed her red-painted lips all over the backside of that married lover's sky blue boxers. How he dressed in the dark of her tiny dormitory room, early morning. He had kissed her forehead while she pretended to sleep. And it was only when his footsteps were down the hall that she had allowed herself a torrent of laughter, like she enjoyed again now. It was hard to say what had happened next whether the fat schoolteacher wife saw them or not, but he called and cursed at her for a short while before she hung up. Jane joined in, before sputtering the almost scripted line "But why would you do this?". Grace adored the opportunity to explain her punishments.…

Mary Alice debated on whether or not to go inside. Despite her shaky palms and fast heartbeat, she entered the double porters anyways. As she opened the door, the smell was musky and bitter. When Mary Alice walked inside, it was so quiet that even the sound of her own footsteps echoed. Mary Alice made her way to the stairs, each step was made of wood and the staircase had gargoyles along the railings.…

It had been a crazy morning as I ran all over my house trying to find my jacket and boots. My mom had been admitted into the hospital that morning for a massive headache and all I could think about was whether or not she would be okay. I took her to the emergency room that day before so going to class was the last thing on my mind. My father and sister had agreed to stay with her till I ended class so I was more at ease knowing she wouldn’t be alone. After running all over my house looking for my things I quickly gathered myself to make my train. I finally got to Penn Station with four minutes to spare. I quickly walked to where the rest of my class was as we waited for instructions to where we would…

My adolescent legs strain as I continue along the path aimlessly, my stomach rumbles in emptiness as I realise I left without food. How can one think of such things at a time like that? I most certainly didn't, and now the only thing dwelling in my gut was the sore pain that was the increasing hate for the cruel beings that raised me. Lost in my thoughts my melancholy walking pattern is disrupted as my foot catches on a thick branch and I fall swiftly face first into a small jagged rock. Dazed, I lift myself up from the ground and dust myself off; my left eyelid closes automatically as blood rolls down the top of my face. Cursing, I wipe my face with my sleeve, soaking the cotton a blackish-red instantly. The shock dissipates and pain sets in, sharp agony mixed with a strange tingling sensation on my forehead. I forcedly push the pain to the back of my mind, and go to take my next step just as a small blue spherical object reflecting the moon catches my eye on the edge of the track. Interested, I walk over to it, and pick it up in my hands. After examining the dirt caked ball, images of my younger brother flash through my mind. Times spent together, kicking a ball in the backyard, taking him to his first movie, and then screams of pain, blood, oh god the blood is.... The ball drops to the ground as my hand trembles from the horrible images. I kick it far away off the trail in anger as Im reminded of the situation Im in. The smoky scent of a…

That would be the words that I would use to describe middle school lunch. I rolled in and immediately hated my decision. Kids were everywhere, and each group of friends sat a specific table. Once I realized that I was not going to find a table, I headed towards the library. It was one of the only other place that I could remember how to find. When I got there I was happy to find no one else in the library. As I rolled up to the closest table, I pulled out a yogurt. It was one of the few things I was able to eat. Just then, the library door opened. I girl with ginger hair and cute pink glasses walked in. She also carried a…

It was a typical first day of school. Rushing to get ready, finding the perfect outfit, cliche first-day-of-school pictures. When I got to school, everything was normal. Life was good. My friend Darlene kept her glance down at the floor while Francine moved over to a different chair as soon as I sat down. At first I did not seem to think anything of it, as it was the first day back to school. The first day back to school is always laid back and tiring. I opened my mouth but not a single word came out, I immediately thought something was wrong when Darlene disappeared to the bathroom without a single noise. Francine glared at me for what seems like hours, but I know to only be seconds. I concentrated on the white walls and how they drifted onto the ceiling. I could not bring myself to look Francine in the eyes at this moment. Whenever Darlene sat across from me, I finally looked up. Believing I was ready to hear the words from her mouth was an absolute lie to myself. Now, once and for all, I listened to the noises that were spilling out, but comprehending them was a different…

Only 2 tedious hours of school and I could go home and lay in my queen size bed with my body sized pillow because today was just not my day. As i walk into Mr. Schwantes class I see an egg, a cup filled with water, and toilet paper roll. I know right then and there we are doing a really fun activity. Mr. Schwantes was always a fun teacher. He was very helpful as well. I could always count on him to cheer me up. I take a seat and read the board and do what it says. “ Good morning boys and girls!!” Mr. Schwantes says as he walks in the room, “ We will be doing an experiment today. Please move all of your stuff to the back counter when you are done with your blog.” As i stand up to go put my folder and notebook on the back counter I start feeling a little light headed. What was wrong with me? My stomach aches and i'm really dizzy. After standing there for about 20 seconds i feel fine again. I place my items on the back counter and take my seat, I just couldn't get the fact that the big game was tonight and i didn't feel good out of my head. “Are you okay Kierra,” Mr. Schwantes asks, “You look a little…

As my mom drove her car to school, she spoke encouraging words to me. As soon as we arrived at school, my hands felt clammy. My mind raced so much that I could not think about anything else but how school would be like. I slowly walked toward the two massive school doors squeezing my mother's hand. My body screamed inside as I entered the school premises with my mother and older brother. My mind raved with many thoughts as of how I was going to make friends, or if the teacher was going to be mean and cruel. I lacked confidence of how I was going to do on that day.…
