in the United States. Unable to get herself educated, she ensured Gloria’s education and was instrumental in making her a strong, independent woman.
After attending Philadelphia High School for Girls, she went to the University of Pennsylvania, where she met first her spouse, Peyton Bray. The union resulted in a single child, Lisa, on September 20, 1961, shortly after which the couple separated. Lisa is now a successful attorney best known as a former Court TV anchor.
She moved back in with her guardians and proceeded with her education. In 1963, she earned a four year certification in English. With support of her teacher, she wrote her honours thesis on Armenian scholars. She attempted her hand at various occupations before she chose to turn into an educator, taking a position at Benjamin Franklin High School. She then took a shot at a graduate degree at New York University. After the completion of which, she proceeded as an educator and, in 1966, moved to Los Angeles, California.
On a short vacation to Acapulco in 1966, Bloom was raped at gunpoint. She discovered she was pregnant and sought Abortion, which was unlawful at that time. The aftermath of the procedure led to haemorrhaging and infections, and she recovered only after hospitalization. In 1968, she got married to William Allred. She rolled herself in South-western University School of Law and later transferred to Loyola University School of Law in
Los Angeles. Allred graduated and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1975. Shortly after it, she divorced her spouse in 1978.
