Entry 8:Passage: “In spite of not having much money, the only reason Darry couldn’t be a soc was us. The gang. Me and Soda. Darry was too smart to be a greaser. I don’t know how I knew, I just did. And I was kind of sorry.” pg 126
Situation: Two-bit and Ponyboy were on a bus ride home from the hospital and they were talking about everything that has been going on. They were at the hospital because others in the gang got hurt in the fire when they went to save the kids. This is at the end of Chapter 8.
Importance: This is important because it shows that the only difference between socs and greasers is money.
Analysis: This impacts the story because the greasers in this hard time, start to understand what the difference is between socs and
greasers. This helps show that they really are very similar despite of their classes. This impacts the readers because they can understanding because the reader can understand what actually stands between the two groups.
