The character’s name is Robyn Davidson. Robyn plays a remarkable wanderer in this film. In this patriarchal world we can see a woman in this movie as an absolutely powerful and hardy character. When she sets off to nature she seems strong but in progress she gets more adapted to the conditions of Australia’s Bush Life and climate changes. In one scene she goes to a man of camels and asks him if she has camels to lead. Then she leads four camels including a baby camel. These experiences make her durable. The landscape amazes her incredibly. She admires the beauty of landscape and being free in nature, being in charge of herself and her adventure. This film is a thematic character study. So we can see the main character changing into a real spiritually developed person. American photographer Rick Smolan (Adam Driver) is an important character either. He takes her pictures on the way of her journey. In one scene she makes jokes about him about being obsessed with photographing her. She is very different from other women in society. In a review on a site it says “Wasikowska gives a fantastic, compelling performance as a young determined woman who puts herself through a massive physical and mental toll. She is a character who is uncomfortable with modern society, and everyone she meets, from her friends to hardened outback men, think she is mad for wanting to take such a dangerous journey.” She is a wild female character in a certain manner.
