War in Modern Day Society Many wars have taken place in history, from around the globe and as far back in the bible. Most believe that wars are necessary when it is in defense of the nation or when all diplomatic methods have been exhausted to find a peaceful solution to any form of aggression. However, wars often cause more problems than peace. War is necessary whenever evil attempts to disrupt the peace of society. Though people say war itself is bad, war is not really about killing, war is about fighting for equality and freedom, though it should not be at the cost of others equal rights. War, a strategy used commonly by the Anglo-Saxons is best shown in modern day society through the works of the Army, Navy, and Air Force of the US. There are multiple different roles of the people who fight in wars. These roles come down to the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force. Each role is different and unique in their own way. The Army's job is to defeat the enemy on land. The Air Force can blow something up, but the Army are the guys who go in, take names, and physically occupy enemy turf.. It is the Army's job to engage enemy ground forces in battle. Because of this the Army has heavier formations than the Marines. The Navy's job is to control the sea; keep the sea lanes open and deny the sea lanes to the enemy. They sink enemy ships, and use their carrier based planes to support the ground troops. And finally, the Air Force. The Air Force does more or less the same thing, except from the air and space. They shoot down enemy planes, drop bombs, control the ICBMs, run the spy satellites, run the strategic bombers, and provide airlift and tactical air support to the ground troops. Each of these roles put both positive and negative effects on the world. The Army is the most common role in war. They mainly fight on land, so this has put a substantial amount of negative effects to the environment. First, the actual

War affects the army as an organisation because it means they will lose soldiers and have to retrain new ones. An example of this would be the crash of Nimrod XV230 which killed everyone on board, that highlighted the cost-pressure of the war. The training and recruiting of troops is expensive enough but to constantly sustain the high amount of soldiers that is required in a war such as Afghanistan it comes with great financial struggles, some soldiers have even had to do multiple tours in Afghanistan.…

It took soldiers so long to dig the trenches that advancing front lines moved at a snail’s pace. In one area, the losses from a battle could be in the numbers of 200,000 with the front lines only being shifted about half a mile. Although WWI was dubbed the war to end all wars, WWI provided the first of many things. When a new combat tactic is implemented, another must be created to counter. Because of trench warfare and how difficult it was to infiltrate enemy lines, the first tanks were created to help provide mobile cover for soldiers to traverse the battlefield. The first aircraft were developed into fighter aircraft to help keep scout planes from revealing friendly positions. The airplanes were not yet big enough to travel long distances so the first carriers were built to help minimize the amount of flight time needed for aircraft to reach their targets, as well as provide security on the trade routes. Although WWI had a very large death toll for every country involved, support for the United States Armed Forces by its people were not lacking. About 90 percent of the American population in some way showed support towards its Military fighting the war. With this rising patriotism from the people, many American’s volunteered for the service. Their number, however, were too small to build the large army needed to fight the war so on June 5, 1917, President…

The military is one of the way people serve our country. The Navy gives their lives out on the big waters. They’re out there for months and do not get to see their family. The Marines are the ones always up on the front line giving their lives to protect us. The Marines are the ones that go in on secret missions and even big drug busts. The Air Force are the ones who fly through the skies fighting our air wars while we just sit and watch. They are the one who get shot at most of the time. The Army are the ones who supply the weapons and ammo for all of these branches without them you might as well give up. That is why the military is important to our country.…
