The question whether humans can cohesively live together in this world, in society, but most importantly, in nation, has been discussed among inner circles of scholars for centuries. The answer to this questions is yes, they can live together as one human race. The 43rd president of the United States, George Bush, once stated, “ In the face of all this evil, we remain strong and united, ‘One Nation Under God.’ ” Bush said this after the tragic 9/11 incident. As one can see, Bush states that Americans stood together as one, even through rough times. Abraham Lincoln’s unforgettable Gettysburg Address speech also adds on to this. However, Lincoln talks about unity and how our nation is capable of enduring an experience as horrible as this. Another text that supports the conclusion that humans can live together as one human race can be “Making the Future Better, Together” by Eboo Patel. In the beginning of this text, Patel talks about an Islamic woman being looked at with the bad eye, at an airport. This of course is because of the 9/11 incident. However, that is not his point.
