Fine Dining vs. Fast Food
In the mood for a quick bite or a night out. Well, what are the choices? McDonald?s is quick, cheap and convenient. They will have you enjoying your food just as fast as you can pay the cashier. On the other hand, though it is not fine dining but that could be your second choice. You could go to one of the finer restaurants such as The Washington Inn. Here, service is everything, speed is not. A relaxing evening is all that awaits you. So would you rather have a diet coke or a nice glass of say, White Zinfandel. The choice is yours.

Eating out at a fine dining restaurant is not just a decision, but rather an experience all in itself. Fine dining is just that, Fine, and they expect you to look as nice as the atmosphere you plan to inhabit for the evening. The Washington Inn is a very romantic, quite and formal environment. Appropriate wear for such a place would be more along the lines of casual to the more up and up. A suit and tie is acceptable but not necessary. If you are looking to be a bit more comfortable then a nice shirt and khakis will work, but anything less and you will not be permitted to the restaurant.

An elegant dining experience does, however, come with a special price. By the time your night comes to an end, and you have been served that last cup of coffee; be ready to cough up a few bills for your party. Also, do not forget the minimum 20% tip for the great service you have received throughout the evening. The classic, ?how is everything? line is not thrown in for free. Well, you have paid the check and no need to walk to your car because the valet has already brought it to the door for you. Hope you have enjoyed you exceptional experience of fine dining.

On the other hand, if your choice is to eat at a fast food restaurant such as McDonald?s your experience will be very different than fine dining. Fast food is exactly what it sounds like, Fast. Here, you will not have to worry about what to wear. As long as you are dressed, you will be able to

Texas Roadhouse was the dinner place of choice for my family and me the other night; it wouldn’t be the first time we decided to dine at this local restaurant just a few short miles from our current residence. My family and I decided to dine in at Texas Roadhouse not only because of its excellent convenience; located in the center of an outdoor shopping mall that consisted of many shops such as, Wal-Mart, Target and Kohl’s to name a few in which two of those stores required my consideration for a product I was in search of that night but also Texas Roadhouse reminds you of the good ole western roots in which we take part of on a daily basis here in Gilbert, Arizona. I will be evaluating the pros and cons of Texas Roadhouse, three criteria will be used: the total cost must not exceed $25 per person; the menu as well as the establishment must be kid friendly, and reasonable wait times.…

Second, we had a very talkative and rude waitress. When we first sat down we waited almost 30 minutes just to get our drinks and appetizer put in. On top of getting our drinks late, we had to keep asking for refills. I don’t expect a waitress to keep all drinks completely filled, but when every drink at a table is completely dry, I would think they would need a refill. Paying almost $2.00 for a drink is ridiculous enough, so I try to get what my money is worth. Also on top of all of that, our waitress kept talking to the other table near us while standing at our table. I would have rather not had a waitress and have done it all myself.…

Every time I go to this diner the service is the first thing I notice. Normally after walking through the door and finding a seat, a server is with us in just a minute or two. The server is right there for us, if we need anything. We find that the staff is fun to be around and they treat us like we are friends or family, joking, laughing, and having a good fun time. Since they are open throughout the night there can be some issues that arise because of crowds from the bars and clubs. Sometimes it can be a loud place and if there are a lot of people then we may have to wait for service because there is only one server. The crowds from the bars and clubs can get unruly at times and cause problems with other customers but the staff tries to keep it a calm and fun place.…

We were invited to an Italian restaurant, by some friends to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The Sweet Basil is located in the more upscale part of town. So my expectations were high. Of course we had three criteria’s to meet, although most likely normal for most people. First food choices – quality and quantity (I have a big appetite). Second would be service – how fast we get a table, how well the waitress tends to our needs. Third would be the total cost per couple could not exceed $40 per couple. Very few expectations were met, let alone exceeded. Considering The Sweet Basil is trying to bill itself as a high end restaurant.…

If I had the opportunity to visit Chef Monica Sallier’s restaurant or Chef Andrew Gleason’s restaurant then I would choose Chef Monica’s restaurant. The reasons why I would choose Chef Monica’s restaurant, it’s a more modern type restaurant, her food isn’t perfectly seasoned, she relies more on instinct and that’s pretty impressive to me. Her restaurant isn’t really a romantic type. You can bring some of your closest friends and not feel that you’re actually on a date.…

In “A Look at the Intersection of Fine Dining and Fast Food”, Brenda Falk discusses the differences and similarities in fast food and fine dining. Her main focus throughout the article is the new found overlap in these two dining techniques. She also seems to feel that soon these two dining techniques could easily become one known as “quick casual”. In this article she jumps around from point to point whether it be reasoning behind certain dining styles, types of changes in these styles, or how they affect each other. Her argument was based fully on fast food restaurants adopting ideas from fine dining restaurants .…

When my stomach is growling with hunger and my friends ask where I want to eat, without a moment‘s hesitation I reply, “Olive Garden!” My favorite restaurant to dine at is the Olive Garden. The Olive Garden restaurant is a well known corporate chain of restaurants that offers a wide variety of Italian dishes. It is a mid-priced, causal restaurant specializing in Italian food. I love the experience of dining at the Olive Garden because the atmosphere is welcoming, the Italian Entrees are scrumptious, and the service is excellent. A particular visit last month proved to me that Olive Garden lives up to the expectations of its guests.…

Today’s America is fast paced, always moving with no time to relax and enjoy a well-thought out meal. With a plethora of fast-food joints lining each and every corner of our world, it is much easier and cheaper to settle for a combo at McDonald’s than a buttered-up, baked, lemon salmon with an arugula salad. The joy and happiness of gathering and sharing a meal has been abruptly transformed into a quick fix for hunger, no matter the consequence.…

    Eating Out vs. Eating in

The amount of time that you have also affects the choice of eating out or eating in. A main drive behind the trend to dine out is time. After all, it has been said that time is money. At home you can actually sit down, and accordingly plan a well-detailed meal. It also doesn’t take that much time to actually plan a meal. By taking the time out to plan your meal, your food can be just as good as anything made at any restaurant. Depending on where you go, it could take a long time to receive your meal as well. So you will just be sitting there for thirty minutes getting full off of drinks. Usually at restaurants, customers don’t get their moneys worth, for example a person can go to the most expensive restaurant, pay $20 for a meal, and when you get it in front of you, its barely enough to get you only…

I am a huge Coke fan and both places sell Coke products. It is hard to beat a cheeseburger and let’s be honest here, both places serve great cheeseburgers! I enjoy going to Macs when I have a night off and can relax. I especially love going on Friday night when they have the prime rib dinner. In my opinion it is the best place to eat in Pendleton. I eat at McDonalds at least three or four times a week. It is very handy for me because it is only a few blocks from my house. I have a very busy week with all my classes and most of the time I don’t have time to go home and cook a real meal before it is time for me to rush back to class. I can go through the drive through in just a few short minutes eat my breakfast or lunch and head back to class. On of favorite things about both places is there prices are affordable for a college kids like me. You can get a filling meal at Macs for right around twelve dollars. That is a very good price for as much as they serve you. Also at McDonalds you can order a cheeseburger with fries and a drink for a little over seven dollars, you will not find cheaper or faster food for that matter.…
