First Kill Narrative
I never understood why they always smoked a cigarette after they killed someone until I did it myself. I bought a pack of cigarettes just to test it out. I didn't buy them my first kill because, I knew I'd be freaking out which, I actually didn't. I handled the blood, the guts and the screams quite well.

Honestly, taking a few puffs off of a cancer stick helped calm my nerves. Blood would get on it and eventually burn. I enjoyed the smell of it, it reminded me of a burning flesh.

Now, about my first kill, it was pretty crappy. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.

As Corrie and I sadly drove away from the others in Ellie’s Land Rover, I started to question myself whether or not I truly wanted to risk my life for a girl that could potentially die at or on the way to the hospital. My head was bursting with questioning thoughts, that I wasn’t quite sure how to answer, “What if Corrie dies?”, “What happens if we get caught and become prisoners of war?”, “How will I carry on in life all on my own?.” In order to get to the hospital with minimal risks, I needed to get my head together and carry on with this sceptical drive, however, still keep in mind all of these threatening possibilities. I turned my head to the back of the car to see Corrie; you could tell she was very uneasy and slowly drifting away from normality. “Corrie” I said, “You need to try and stay awake, we aren’t too far from the hospital. You’re going to be okay, just hold on for a little longer.” She replied with “Kevin, hurry please. I don’t know how much longer I can hold on for. This material isn’t going to stop the bleeding for much longer.” I was going 100 k/ph but then rapidly sped up to 160 k/ph.…

I’ve always looked for a meaning or purpose that could connect with my life, but how can a 17 year old boy decipher and discover such a thing on his own? A possibility can be found through ways of expressing passion to the public. Such as movies, songs, poems, or even a piece of art. And even though I have seen or found some type of message in all these, I’ve found a special one with a film by the name of The American Sniper. This is a film about a U.S Navy Seal Officer by the name of Chris Kyle that was during the fight on terrorism. The things I can take from this film that lets it connect so well with my life is a certain scene about a saying of a sheep dog, and the similarities I can see with the protagonist and my father. Ideas and…

Hello Eric, the correlation between the pseudonymous writer for Tom Clancy, and letters attributed to Paul is interesting (E. O’Dell, personal communication, October 10, 2017). However, the scholarly contesting of certain Pauline letters appears somewhat useless regarding the evidence being used to prove or disprove. Moreover, according to Harris (2014) style, format and phrasing is the basis for the large majority of the contested epistles. Also, if Paul used verbal dictation when constructing his letters, it would account for significant differences in style and phrasing (Harris, 2014). Consequently, the repetitive style and phrasing are possibly due to one consistent secretary, then the changes in style and wording could change if Paul changed…

First They Killed My Father demonstrates that when people live in constant fear they begin to live only for themselves. Discuss, the constant fear, which is portrayed by the Ung family, is one which would push any person who experienced this to only fend for themselves, as it is the only way to survive. Human adaptability is clearly shown in the text through Pa's sense to become friendly with the chief and the base people, which is a source of procuring enough food for his family. The parents of teenagers understand that if the young women are not sent away the soldiers will have their way with them, no matter what, and if the young men are not sent away they will be forcefully conscripted into the Angkar army. Never have I ever been the risk-taker type of person. I kept on rationalizing and reasoning out that things should be done according to a valid purpose just to avoid being asked to do them. And frankly, I found every purpose or reason other people trying to convince me tell, in any way possible, invalid. I have escaped many adventures in life and lost opportunities that were already laid out in front of me. I practically think I even consider almost everything a waste of my time. Being the law-abiding citizen that I am, I thought life should be lived only according to every rule that was set. I was extremely obedient to the point that when my mother says I can’t leave the table unless I finish my food, I really didn’t move. And when she got back to check on me, she saw me sleeping beside my untouched lunch.…
