The fitbit blaze is what I researched for my project. It is a improved FitBit. It has all the same features as a regular fit bit. But it has a improved screen, heart rate moniter and a improved wrist band so it wont fall off. It is was easier to use also. The old fitbit had a lot of different things on it, and this only has 2 screens and easy to use features.…
I will admit that when I hear the term Marketing the first thing that comes to mind is advertising. I know there is more to marketing but this is the first thought, and I think this is common. However, while marketing is advertising it is much more than just that. Our course materials states that marketing is the performance of activities that seek to accomplish and organization's objectives by anticipating customer needs and directing a flow of need-satisfying goods and services from producer to the customer. I am quickly learning that marketing has two parts; the one part is where a company that produces a certain good or service that is more of a want than a need meets customers expectations and wants. Then there is marketing for the needs in life, the goods and services that keep our lives going on a daily basis.…
Instead of trying to persuade customers to buy what the LA Fitness has already produced, the marketing department has decided to produce a product for families not just individuals. The corporation has decided to do this through research. Consumer needs and wants became the firm's primary focus. This consumer-orientated marketing philosophy came to be known as the marketing concept (Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University , 2001). The consumers and buyers that make up LA Fitness's demographics are the suppliers, current clients, potential…
Marketing is a function within in a business that has become increasingly important over the years. Long before the growth of the web , it was essential for businesses , if they were to compete successfully , to think about how their products would meet the needs of the people who might buy them. If they failed to do this , people would stop buying the products.…
The marketers are also using product development to increase sales, they do this by coming up with new Fitbits and with new apps for the products that they sell.…
As a personal definition, marketing is a strategy to promote consumer awareness and positive feelings towards a brand or product in order to encourage the consumer to purchase or use that product. In more specific terms, the American Marketing Association (2012) defines marketing as “the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large.” A simpler definition of marketing, as identified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (2012), are the activities and strategies that result in making products available that satisfy customers while making profits for the companies that offer those products. The key factor that all three definitions have in common is that the overall purpose of marketing is to appeal to consumers by showing them how a product or service can meet their needs and to influence them to purchase that product or service. A successful marketing strategy can catch a consumer’s attention and make the product or service stand out in a crowd of competitors who offer similar products.…
In my own words marketing is doing what is possible to satisfy a customer by delivering a product that will keep them coming back for more. Marketing not only deals with the selling and advertising but also with satisfying customers need. Successful companies take into account the needs of the customers by not focusing solely on selling the product. When companies do this they are gaining loyal customers because they see that their needs are being tended too. Marketing is a process where companies create value for customers and build on that value which strengthens the relationship between the company and customers; this allows customers to see the value in the product offered.…
The cultural item I chose is a Fitbit. A Fitbit comes in a variety of bands and colors each with different trackers. A Fitbit is a fitness and health tracker that is worn on the wrist all day long and it monitors everything from your daily steps taken to your heart rate. This item is for virtually anybody, but the targeted audience is more towards anyone looking to better themselves health wise. The Fitbit helps motivate users to keep pushing themselves and meet their daily goals (whatever you set in the app on a cell phone). There is also a friends version where daily step competitions can occur as well as the weeks top leaders. Some Fitbits are connected with cell phones where calls and texts will sync through the band so a user can read their messages or callers by looking at the band.…
Marketing is a crucial part of a company; it is defined as “the activity, set of institutions, and processes of creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large (Lamb, 2010). In other words marketing can be seen as a planned concept used by most businesses to enhance their financial growth. Customers can be put at ease with knowing that the products they purchase are of excellent quality and the quantity they demand will be available. Before taking this marketing class; when I heard the word marketing my thought was that it only involved advertising…
Marketing is a concept most familiar as a consumer. However, marketing in the eyes of a business person can be seen as advancement or promotion. To a consumer marketing can be explained as a commercial, a magazine ad, billboards, etc. To a sales person marketing is a source of networking and self-promotion through branching out via social media outlets such as Facebook or Twitter. Marketing to most is simply the idea of selling on a large scale.…
Fitbit was founded in early 2007 by James Park and Eric Friedman, they saw a gap in the market for wearable technology. The idea of Fitbit is to count the steps you take to help get you in shape. You can count your steps and track your fitness by wearing a Fitbit device on your wrist or attached to you with a clippable device. The company makes the most popular devices in the fitness tracking market with nearly 11 million sold in 2014. Its line of wearable devices tracks calories burned duration of activity, and calories burned. Other measurements taken by Fitbit devices include sleep duration and quality, heart rate, distance and route. All Fitbit devices synchronize with computers and with apps on mobile devices…
Marketing is the process of teaching consumers why they should choose product or service over competitors. The key is finding the right method and defining the right message to use to educate and influence consumers. Companies make the mistake of thinking that marketing is just one thing, but marketing is everything that the consumer encounters when it comes to business, from advertising, to what they hear, to the customer service that they receive, to the follow-up care that provide. It’s all marketing and creating the decision within the consumer whether or not to choose initially or for repeat business.…
“Marketing is the recognition and reunion of the human and social or cultural requirements. There is one of the best and smallest meaning of the marketing is the congregation of desires beneficially” (Kotler & Keller, 2009, p. 5). In addition, the meanings of marketing are given as performing actions that can accomplish the objectives by predicting consumer’s requirements to provide required gratifying things, services, and so on, by the Perrault, Cannon, and McCarthy (2009).…
Marketing can be defined as ‘the activity, set of institutions and processes for creating, communicating, delivering and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners and society at large’ (American Marketing Association, 2007). From this definition it can be seen that marketing is the process by which an organisation communicates with customers to promote, create a sense of value and ultimately sell their concept or product (Gamble, Gilmore, McCartnan-Quinn and Durkan, 2011). As previously stated marketing is not a singular function but a process. This process consists of a four basic elements; identifying a want or need within a market; creating a strategy to market a product to fulfil this need; delivering and communicating value to the customer; and the retaining of customers through the maintenance of this perceived value (Kotler, Brown, Burton, Deans and Armstrong, 2010, pg. 6).…
Every year there are billions of dollars wasted by companies on marketing. If your company has a good design, excellent execution, and funding for the project, it does not mean you are prepared to market successfully. When you are promoting a new product or service, the first thing to consider is that it is better to be first than it is to be better. "It 's much easier to get into the mind first than to try to convince someone you have a better product than the one that did get there first." It 's always easier to remember who 's in first place or who the leader is. Companies ' who venture out to be pioneers in their categories often become the generic names used for those products, such as Xerox, Kleenex, and Coke. If you are entering an area in the market that has already been established, then set up a new category you can be first in. Everyone is interested in what is new, and you will have no competition. But more importantly, it is better to be first in people 's mind than to be first in the marketplace. "Being first in…
