Charlie goes to a school only for people like him. He is taught by Miss Kinnian. All of the other mentally challenged people like Miss Kinnian a lot, but Charlie loves Miss Kinnian. He loves her more than a teacher, but he knows that they will be nothing more than friends. After school he goes to the factory to work. He kept getting lost. As soon as the doctors heard about it they knew it was only a matter of time before this would happen to Charlie. Soon enough Algernon was an average mouse. Not dumber but certainly not any smarter. When Charlie started to fade away, he couldn’t spell, speak or read foreign languages, and he couldn’t solve math problems anymore. Once again, he was a 37 year old man who is mentally challenged. I think Charlie learned that being smart is helpful and an amazing feeling, but being too smart isn’t the best thing to be. Charlie also learned that people love you for who you are and that you don’t need to be smart to be loved or needed or anything. The last thing Charlie learned was people who treat you badly or make fun of you, they are not your friends at all.
