I didn't like the two ads that used association. The one ad used the slogan "Share Music, Not the Flu" The target audience was young adults. I felt this was patronizing, because instead of telling it in a factual straightforward way, they seem to have "dumbed it down".
The other ad that used association had the slogan "Share Popcorn, Not the Flu" accompanied with a picture of children eating popcorn. Similarly to the other ad I felt this was also patronizing. They seemed
to have tried to "get on the kids level", rather than giving actual reasons why you should get the flu vaccine.
The other two ads I was shown gave facts such as "adults need to be vaccinated" and " you should vaccinate your kids". I felt this was a better way of getting the point across that flu vaccines are necessary for all ages. Rather than using silly slogans, and associations that had nothing to do with the flu.
After reviewing the advertisements I believe it's better to give factual straightforward than to use silly slogans. This is why I preferred the second two ads to the first two. I think this style of ad will appeal to a larger audience.
