Early on in the film, robbers break into Philip’s house and Flubber and Weebo defend the house. In this scene Flubber displays his rebound effect. Flubber has a great personality. He is always curious, as soon as flubber emerged into the world he is curious, he begins to mimic Philip. Curiosity is both an advantage and a disadvantage because it encourages Flubber to try new things, which can reap benefits or put him in danger. Flubber is helpful. Flubber tries to help out whenever he can, he helps to fend off robbers and bring Sarah and Philip back together after Philip misses his wedding. Flubber’s glowing personality makes him endearing to humans, which is a proven benefit over time.
With superheroes there is always a question of how much harm vs good they are doing, when fighting adversaries they often level entire city blocks and wreak havoc on the area; with Flubber there is no question, He saves the world in quiet ways, like helping the professor keep his job, or helping Sarah forgive her absent minded fiancé.
