Football Safety Rules Essay

Football did not start as a national game. It was only a sport for only college students to play. Until 1906 when more people began to play and football began to get more rules. Shortly later the NFL started changing the rules even more than they did the first time there was now restricted defense contact with wide receivers if they are over the five-yard line and offence linemen had to start extending their arms to block pass rushers. After, that the NFL committee started getting together with each other each year to improve the player’s safety rules to keep a safe game for all players. Players today run a lot faster than they did twenty years ago. The sprints have doubled since 2002 and they have increased by forty percent from 2012. The equipment that is used is much different today and it is much more improved.
The football games from fifty years ago, were much slower than the games we have today. Players today have to work harder and train all year round for the upcoming season and they also have to be able to run fast enough to get a top-level score. Being that players today work harder and practice more they tend to be more fit for playing football. When it comes to fans they are definitely more involved in football today than they used to be. Fans actually understand more about what’s going on in the game then they used to. Big fans of football know the players’ names, numbers, and positions off by heart. In 1964 46,562 fans went to the games and now 65,043 fans go to the games. The stadiums have been improved to be bigger and better than they were in the past
