Freak The Mighty: Song Analysis
The song talks about times the friends had together that they wouldn’t trade for anything, like the times Max and Kevin had together. ‘Goodbye’ is said over and over like how Max has to say goodbye to Kevin. The song also talks about the artist finding a way to tell the world about his friend just like Max wrote a book about the adventures they had.
This song reminds me of the strong friendship that Max had with Kevin. They were always there for each other like when Kevin had attacks and had to go to the hospital a couple times. Also when Max got kidnapped Kevin didn’t give up until he found him and helped save him. When they stood by each other they were Freak the Mighty, they went through everything together and made each others lives better.

Also, ‘Parting request’ is said over and over again like how Kevin gave Max a book before he dies and said to write down all their adventures like a parting request from him. The song sounds sad and sentimental which was like how it felt after Kevin died. That is why I picked this song for this event.
This song has always sounded kinda creepy to me; the song has a tension in it like somethings going to happen. The lyrics say ‘I was there, I saw what you did, it was all a bunch of lies, I remember don’t worry’ which reminds me of how Kenny tries to lie to Max even though he knows the truth. When I listen to the song I think of how Max was scared of Kenny going on parole and I think that Max sensed something like this was gonna happen. Also, Max could feel it in the air that something was in his room, and the suspense in the song is like the suspense in the

There is a certain pain that is felt whenever a loved one passes. Beyond sadness, it is hurt, it is anger, it is confusion, and an almost unidentifiable emptiness where the lungs should be. People who have not experienced such loss have a happy, if hazy, view of the world. Then, there are those who lose someone… a major someone... so very special. They do eventually move on, but the pain alters them forever. Ed Sheeran, in the song “Afire Love,” illustrates how the loss of an individual can impact everyone around them, young and old.…

Throughout the song it talks about how school is hard, but it gets better. In the song it says "Filling me up with rules/Ive got to admit it's getting better". Those two lines mean that the school is making too many rules and that the students don't have any freedom, but it gets better. This relates to my 8th grade experience because when I started 8th grade, they had a bunch of rules. Two weeks into 8th grade, the school let 8th grade have more freedom and it got better.…

One study by Developmental Psychology found that children exposed to violent media had higher levels of young adult violence regardless of their past. Also, songs and books promote tolerance by inspiring people to be nicer to people who are cast out. When a song plays it spreads the message of the song from person to person because they sing it and other people hear it. This spreads the message of the music very quickly and effectively. An example of this is the song Cool Kids, this song is about the kids who are alienated and want to fit in with the “cool kids”.…

The song that I chose to analyze is “Changes” by Tupac Shakur. The late Tupac Shakur was an African American rapper who was shot dead years ago. His powerful lyrics have impacted the rap industry to this day, because he spoke the truth. His lyrics directly related to his everyday struggles, and how being a successful African American is not an easy task to achieve. Rap usually talks about events of everyday life, and the song “Changes” talks about racial profiling, poverty, and how racism affects the everyday life of African American people. Note that this song came out in about 1996 where things were different, however the lyrics of this song still ring in the ears of people who are affected by the evil of racism.…

He lost one of the most important people in his life, his mom. She was his first love, and she showed him the most love. Losing her makes him doubt the possibility of ever having someone love him so much and loving someone so much. “Goodbye my friend, will I ever love again?” As a state earlier this line has different meanings. He repeatedly sings these words, questioning the future, and his ability to ever love someone after he has suffered from the biggest loss, losing his mom to cancer. He also repeats this line to also talk about his fiancee whom he also…
