The story of potato chips dates back to late 1850s, when a New York chef presented deep fried crisp potato chips to the railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt. Although the invention was made out of curiosity, it became an instant hit after Vanderbilt gave it an approval. Till date, potato chips are one of the most favorite snacks among many Americans.
