I am writing to you to inform you about the great experience you will have as a peer tutor. During peer tutoring sessions, you will have the oppurtunity to help students meet the learning objectives, go over notes, review, and hopefully help them achieve in their learning. Peer tutoring, may also be a great experience for future teachers. For peer tutoring, assignments may contain simple questions about the class enviornment, content covered during class sessions, and how you helped a student that day. As a peer tutor, I have learned to have patience with the student(s).
As you help the student(s) during tutoring sessions, you may also be helping the teacher. In my experience, many times the teacher would struggle helping out so many students, that I may needed to help her out. During my sessions, I was in a sophomore Biology class. Most of the time when the students had class experiments and labs, I would only help if they needed material, becuase they were very cooperative with each other and knew what they were supposed to do. The times I had to explain the assignment and content to them, I had to learn to be patient with them. Some people or students may work at a difference pace than you do, because it either takes time for them to learn the material, or they learn it so fast that they end up teaching you. I see this as a good thing and it may help you out in future job locations. If you decide to go to a university or just work after high school, peer tutoring may prepare you by learning to work with others. As an underclassman, you may want to start thinking about what classes you may want to take your senior year, so I highly encourage you to select peer tutoring as a
