Purpose
Garden State I feel that the true purpose of a movie is to give viewers a different view on life. It should make them question or re-evaluate certain aspects of life and show them different ways that people live and interact. A good movie should teach a lesson to the audience watching it, no matter what that lesson is. The movie, “Garden State,” gives viewers a deeper meaning of life and love. This movie has a strong effect on people’s emotions and thought process. Adderall is the medication prescribed to those suffering from Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Last year, the government realized that people who did not even have ADD were easily obtaining Adderall and prescriptions for it If there was one incident in which a person could not focus or pay attention, they were immediately given Adderall. In reality, all they needed to do was try a little bit harder to focus. Some truly do suffer from ADD, and it is understandable that they rely on Adderall to complete many everyday tasks, but for others, the right to Adderall is abused and they rely on it in an unnecessary …show more content…
Samuel Butler once stated that, “People do not realize that the sole purpose of life is to enjoy it”. This ideology never really hit Andrew until he was off of his medication. He relied on the pills for happiness, but in reality, they did not bring him happiness at all. They arguably did the opposite. It was not until after he returned home, free of anti-depressants, that Andrew was not only able to enjoy life, but also able to find a woman to enjoy life with. The first time in the movie that Andrew actually seemed happy in life was when he was with
