Everyone knows the huge debate about gay marriage being legal or not. I don’t think gay marriage should be legalized. Homosexuality is strictly forbidden in the bible. Gay marriage will lead to more children being raised in same-sex households which will lead to troubled children. The institution of marriage has traditionally been defined as between a man and a woman. Therefore gay marriage should not be legalized. Let me quote what the Bible has stated about homosexuals. Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. Leviticus 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind; it is an abomination. Gay marriage is an abomination with the beliefs, sacred texts, and traditions of many religious groups. The Catholic Church, Islam, United Methodist Church, Southern Baptist Convention, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, National Association of Evangelicals, and American Baptist Churches USA all oppose same-sex marriage. Expanding marriage to include same-sex couples may lead to churches being forced to marry couples and children being taught in school that same-sex marriage is the same as opposite-sex marriage.
Can you imagine growing up without a father or even a mother? Studies in the United States and New Zealand have shown girls who have experienced father absence are more likely to start sexual activity and teenage pregnancy earlier than the average female. Then there are children without a mother that are deprived of the emotional security and unique advice that mothers provide. In the 1997 book Growing up in a Lesbian Family: Effects on Child Development, Fiona Tasker, PhD, and Susan Golombok, PhD, observed that 25% of sampled young adults raised by lesbian mothers had engaged in a homoerotic relationship, compared to 0% of sampled young adults raised by heterosexual mothers.
