Geek Squad

1) For Robert Stephens to create his company there were key environmental factors that helped him achieve his goal in what he was trying to create. One of the most important factors for them is technology. With technology changing and always being updated, it always becomes increasingly more difficult to understand how the product works. The second factor was helping the consumer that didn’t understand or how the knowledge or time to learn how the product works and or is operated. The last factor is competition, which at the time there was no one to compete in the same market as Robert, making him the candidate to succeed in this needed market.

2) A) With the new update of technology, companies are starting to see that the most important part to selling their product is to also sell a service they can use with it, which is where Geek Squad comes into play. This has helped decrease return rates by 25%-35% of their products.
B) Women have become a very important subject for Best Buy since they have started to have a lot more interest in buying personal computers and home entertainment systems for their own benefit. The problem with the women buying the products is that they are expecting service during and the purchase and an installation after the purchase, which wasn’t offered until Geek Squad started their company.

3) Social- Trends are starting to show that women will out pay men on technology products since they have started to develop an interest in electronic products that they don’t know how to use or even set up.
Economics- Trends are starting to show that Geek Squad will be needed more and more as the prices keep on declining and since the average income for women is rising, they will purchase more technological products which they need help on
Technological- Trends show that with the constant change in technology and how it is always updating which means that more people will run into problems that they need someone to come in and help
