Invisible Yet Strong “Black America’s Invisible Crisis” is an Essence article written by Lois Beckett that talks about a woman named Aireana and her family who were diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In 2013, after riding along with her family in their car, someone on the outside started shooting at them. Aireana and her husband got shot, but her two kids were unharmed in the back seat. In Chapters 7 and 8 of the book Creating Black Americans: African-American History and its meanings, 1619 to the present by Nell Irvin Painter, the author shows that even after emancipation, African Americans made huge steps in the advancement of their own education and professional lives, even when faced with white supremacy groups that were doing everything in their power to push blacks back into being slaves and a subordinate people. This idea is shown when Painter says, “But black success threatened and sometimes enraged Southerners unwilling to share power with people they considered little more than slaves” (Painter 178). In saying this she shows us that even though African Americans were now “free”, they were still struggling to survive…

The term “The New Negro” was in my opinion spoke about almost the rebirth of the black man. This black man was proud of his identity, he was now very aware of what was going on around him. This period established beginning of a period that would not only set the tone for other generation but show case the talent, grace and splendor of the black man. Technology is valuable because it is used in every day. As Mandana Mohsenzadega states in, “OMG: Tweeting, Trending, and Texting” people feel incomplete without technology (448). Technology was intended to bring people closer and increase communication. To be able to stay in contact more in a faster way when is impossible to see a family member. In the beginning Locke tells us about “the tide of Negro migration”. During this time in a movement known as the Great Migration, thousand of African Americans also known as Negros left their homes in the South and moved North toward the beach line of big cities in search of employment and a new beginning. They left the South because of racial violence such as the Ku Klux Klan and economic discrimination not able to obtain work. Their migration was an expression of their changing attitudes toward themselves as Locke said best From The New Negro, and has been described as "something like a spiritual emancipation." In this day and age, what people use to communicate with one another or store data has evolved over the years. With new electronic devices which seem to be always showing up on the shelves of electronic stores, are being bought by a great number of consumers. Though, what used to be in their place, no longer can be found in many stores. Nonetheless, if those ancient devices are still being manufactured. What once played a role in peoples' everyday lives, could now be boxed in somebody's basement, gradually collecting dust. Some of these gadgets would be the portable CD player, the pager, and the floppy disk.…

In the past 10 years there have been many changes in technology. We went from burning CD’s to downloading songs to an MP3 player. We went from a big boxed TV’s to Flat screen TV’s that you can control with your hand and voice. The memory on these things has improved as well. With the CD’s only being able to hold around 700 MB, while MP3 players can hold up to 64GB or more. And hard drives use to only go to 1 TB, now there are hard drives that can hold up to 3TB or more. My favorite new technology is the smart phones. Who would have thought back in 2000 that our phones would be miniature computers, and that there would be an App for everything. From banking to real estate, to even ordering your food right from your phones apps. It’s amazing!…

The history of gadgets spans as far back as humanity itself - since hominids began creating tools to make their lives easier. Humans have always created devices and appliances with specific practical purposes that were initially thought of as novelties, due to unfamiliarity with and initial unwillingness to accept the technology. Today, industry has augmented the creation of new gadgets, while certain retailers, including Brookstone and Richard Thalheimer's RichardSolo.com, specialize in popularizing them. What famous inventors Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Alexander Graham Bell and Leonardo da Vinci, among others, had in common was foresight. They understood that a lifetime spent playing with what others viewed as toys…
