Romeo and Juliet differentiate from society’s stereotypical male and female many times during this play. In the time that the play took place, the woman was thought to be weak and needed protection all time and men are the protectors, but this wasn’t the case for Romeo and Juliet. Although throughout the play characters did not comment on these unusual behaviors, they still occurred. Romeo through the play demonstrates that he is not like any of the other boys and he is not afraid to show it, but by the end of the play he becomes very mature man.
