Evaluation of A Business Code of Ethics
For nursing home facilities there are standard procedures for all organizations or businesses to create a code of ethics for their company to run smoothly. These codes are motivated by several factors with being concerned with core values of the business; it will help set guides for how co-workers treat each other and the ones they are serving. This paper is being written to give you information on the nursing home that I work at and hope to show the ethics not only for the employees but also the management as well. Genesis Healthcare, nursing home is located in many states and has just purchased the manor that I work at this last year, so many changes have happened along with new code of ethics being brought to our attention. I have received their compliance program manual recently and am still learning what they expect of their employees and management. I have been employed with them since February 2012 and enjoy working there. The mission statement for them is “We improve the lives we touch through the delivery of high quality health care and everyday compassion.” They are committed in providing their residents with the highest quality of caring for their medical needs as well as providing services with the highest ethical, business, and loyal standards. These standards include not only the residents, but healthcare providers, companies that they do business with, state regulations that they report to and the public and private people that seek their services. This means that they expect all their employees to follow all legal rules and regulations and to use ethical decisions in all situations they may be presented with.
