Compare and contrast the contributing factors of climate change and argue that there is a need for more economically developed nations to take the lead.
Nations around the world have been contributing to climate change by damaging natural environments and releasing greenhouse gases and there is a need for more economically developed nations. There are different contributing factor, but the majority of these contributions are from the more economically developed nations. Although the less economically developed nations do not contribute as much as the More economically developed nations, they are the ones that are affected the most. More economically developed nations are not affected as much because they have enough resources to supply themselves, which reduces the impact. Most of the less economically developed nations lacked these resources and they needed them from the more economically developed nations.
The more economically developed nations are contributing more in comparison to less economically developed nations in climate change so they should have the most responsibility. Diagram 1 illustrates the carbon dioxide (greenhouse gas) emission in different nations around the world and showed that most of the more economically developed nations emits more than the less economically developed nations. “…during the past two centuries, [pic]developed countries have made excess emissions of greenhouse gases…” (1) Every nation in the world emits greenhouse gases, but most of the More economically developed nations excess their emission of greenhouse gases and according to the United Nations, the greenhouse gas emission by the More economically developed nations is still increasing (2). Another contributing factor to climate change is the clearing of forests and more economically developed nations also contribute more in this. Due to the economic development and urbanisation in more economically developed nations, nations would have to clear out the
