George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road
The year 2015 has seen many exemplary and lauded films. In the opinion of many, Mad Max: Fury Road, directed by George Miller, is by far the best. By far, the cinematography was above and beyond any film released in 2015. Filmed in the Namibian desert, the natural beauty and viciousness of this landscape was illustrated tremendously through wide shots, eye-popping color, and unconventional camera techniques. Through the method of jumpy cam, the main action and climax is viewed from many different perspectives and varying angles, allowing the viewer to lose themselves in the heat and excitement of battle. Many frames are also missing from most of the faster-paced scenes. This allows for a confusing and abstract view throughout, grabbing your attention and forcing you headlong into the plot of Fury Road. Through this, you can sympathize fully with the trauma and conflict the characters are thrown into. Another way Mad Max: Fury Road is separated from other action films is the use of practical effects in its production. Little CGI was used in this movie, and was used only to give actress Charlize Theron the illusion of a missing …show more content…
Though the supposed hero is Max Rockatansky, played in an outstanding performance by Tom Hardy, his role in the movie is not to save the day and get the girl, but to serve as a mercenary and second-in-command to a woman, Imperator Furiosa. Usually, in the male-dominated film industry, a female protagonist is sexualized and made into a love interest for a counterpart male character. Fury Road removes itself from this out-of-date practice. Rather, Furiosa is strong, well-rounded, and dynamic, with actual substance and intrigue, and takes no part in a romantic subplot. As the film progresses, the audience finds itself more invested in the fate of Furiosa, rather than Max’s. This is certainly a turn in the right direction for the action

Throughout the movie it appears that most of the shots were taken using a hand held camera. For example, anytime that the actors would be running, walking on rough ground or moving in an exaggerated motion the camera would be moving with them. Although the camera would appear steady sometimes, it was still shaking more than it would if a steadicam would have been used. The effect of the hand held camera causes the audience to feel confused and uncomfortable at times. However, it also causes the scenes to feel more realistic and more engaging with the audience. The use of the hand held…

And then there’s a bit of drama in between. Writer/director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is so exceedingly proud of every individual environmental image that he has painstakingly captured on film, but his efforts are to such a point of artistic distraction that he’s forgotten to tell a story. As an overabundance of running time is spent gorging on the stunning elements of dense forests and icy plains and sparkling rivers all basking in natural light, there’s no room left in the immense 156-minute production for any semblance of…

As many critics say, Minority Report is one of the movies that has a very realistic vision upon future. Directed by Steven Spielberg, Minority Report is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick. It’s a neo-noir science fiction movie and was officially released on June, 2002. The action in the movie happens in 2054, in Washington D.C and in Northern Virginia. An elite squad that enforces law named “PreCrime”, eliminates crime virtually from Washington D.C. The whole story revolves around John Anderton, captain of “PreCrime”. With the help of three gifted humans called “precogs”, the squad manages to stop crimes before they take place. But the system seems to make an error, when it shows that John Anderton will commit a murder in the next 36 hours. So a “manhunt” begins, a “manhunt” of himself, as Anderton is determined to prove that the system is wrong and to find out the truth.
