As Winston and Julia fall deeper in love, Winston’s views about their government change. Winston is drawn to the revolutionary “Brotherhood”. Winston catches the eye of an Inner Party Member, O’Brien, whom he believes to be an ally. He then also meets a dark haired girl from the Fiction Department, which he believes
is an enemy. But as the story proceeds, we find out that Winston and Julia make love and begin their rebellion against the Party and Big Brother. Winston and Julia continue to fall in love; they believe that their love is so strong that it can’t be taken from them.
Winston and Julia go to a secure room, when they are then disturbed by a noise behind the room and discover a telescreen. They are pulled apart and separated. Winston is put inside the Ministry of Love, a prison with no windows. O’Brien finally comes, Winston believes that he has been caught also, but he soon finds out that he is there to torture him. The Party was aware of Winston’s “crimes”; O’Brien has been watching him for almost a decade.
