George Washington, our first President, was deemed one of the greatest men in the United States history. Washington was not born into the provincial lifestyle of high rank and did not receive the education that he was expected to receive due to early on tragedies in his life. Despite lack of education, Washington’s ambition leads him to accomplish many things in his life. Though many of the accounts of Washington’s life are documented and have been accurate; new discoveries have been uncovered explaining more detailed accounts of “the man who could not tell a lie.” Washington was born in February, 1732 to Augustine and Mary Washington. He was born into the Virginia Gentry, 2nd tier as opposed to the higher class that many believe him to be part of. Tragedy hit his family early on in his life due to the death of several of his siblings, reports of a house fire on Christmas Eve (The Real George Washington, 2009) and at age 11 the death of his father. Recent discoveries report, that though some of the United States history in regards to Washington is accurate, there are some misconceptions on “The Real George Washington.” His ambition took him up both a social, economic and financial ladder. He was not as strong a military man as history precedes him to be, but otherwise a man who allowed certain deviations from the truth to obtain his goals.
