Imagine a society of complete perfection. Not one single person steps out of line. Everyone follows the same rules. All the same religion, sexuality, race, language, heritage, and political beliefs. Is this really perfect? That’s exactly what one of the world’s most feared dictators, Adolf Hitler, attempted with his ruthless army, the Nazis. But was genocide really the way to get what he wanted? How was the murder of six million Jews necessary to make Germany a purer place? In my paper I hope to show how today’s society can be just as unaccepting as Germany during the Holocaust.

Hitler wanted to blame the Jews for Germany’s economic depression and the loss of World War One. But the Jews weren’t the only ones Hitler targeted. He targeted the Mentally and Physically disabled, Gypsies, Homosexuals, Biracial marriages, and the Homeless. Hitler hated everyones who refused to be or was not able to be perfect. That goes back to my first question, Is this really “perfect”? How is it okay to kill six million individuals to have a perfect society?
The answer is, that it’s NOT! Nobody has or ever will be perfect. We as humans are INCAPABLE of being perfect. So what’s wrong with accepting somebody different? Whats wrong with having different beliefs and sexualitys and skin colors? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! We are all different and unique in our own ways.
African Americans were treated horribly. They were forced into slavery and afterwards segregated from White people all because of their skin colors. African Americans have protested for citizenship, the right to vote, and the right for education. Women have protested for equal rights for a very long time.
