To start off, I did research the topic in order to give you the best information possible on a gluten free diet. According to an article in The Guardian by Emine Saner (2015), gluten is a protein that contains gliadin and glutenin. It can be found in numerous variations of food throughout the world. One advantage is due to its popularity and recent rises in Celiac disease, gluten free food is available in grocery stores, local vendors, and restaurants (Saner, 2015). This would help you immensely because you would not have to limit yourself whether you go out for a Bingo brunch with the girls or cook a nice meal with Grandpa. Another advantage is you would be able to eat fruits, meat, seafood (your favorite), vegetables, and a wide range of grains free of gluten such as rice and quinoa (Celiac Disease Foundation, 1998-2016). So, you would still be able to enjoy a diverse mix of foods in your diet. A disadvantage however, would be the cost of gluten free products at local stores and restaurants. According to Saner (2015) these products can go up to three or four times higher in price compared to its gluten filled counterparts. Plus, gluten free foods can have large amounts of fats and sugars alongside multiple types of starches to make these products taste delicious (Saner, 2015). This could actually cause you to gain weight depending on what foods you use to replace gluten products, which is an inconsiderable outcome for you,
