The main character in “Going west” is Bud and the main character in “The Letter” is Maria. Bud is the most realistic because it can happen to anyone. Bud is unhappy because he is stuck in a orphanage without his dad or mom he was also being bullied. Maria is scared because she was in the united states illegally she can be taken away from her family if she gets caught.
Bud is sad because he got separated from his mom and he doesn’t know his dad. Maria is scared that she might have to go to jail for being in America illegally. Bud left the orphanage so he could find his dad. Maria is trying not to get caught when she goes to school. The characters in both stories were special. and determined and scared . In the second story the character reacted scared and brave and well fit in.
