A week ago, I declared to the loyal followers of my column, Facebook page, and blog that I have found the formula of how teams can beat the Golden State Warriors. After Saturday night’s victory by the San Antonio Spurs over the Golden State Warriors, 87-79, I believe Spurs’ coach Greg Popovich and his team of coaches have also found the formula, or worse, the Spurs organization have clandestinely hacked my personal computer. I may need to call in my IT people to be sure. You just never know.

With 13 games to go, the Warriors have some tricky matchups remaining in order to eclipse the 1995-96 Bulls. They have two games against the Spurs, one against the Los Angeles Clippers, another two against the Memphis Grizzlies and one each against the Portland Trailblazers and Dallas Mavericks. The Trailblazers and Mavericks are two of the seven teams that have beaten the Warriors this season. Suffering three losses or less to match or eclipse the Bulls record will be tough but not beyond the Warriors’ capabilities. Lest we forget they started the season 24-0.
Whether they eclipse, match or fail to get the Bulls’ record, how can teams beat a healthy Golden State Warriors now and over a series in the playoffs? Here is the formula.
Statistically, the Warriors have suffered all seven losses on the road, 30-7, and are a perfect 32-0 at home. With nine of their 13 remaining games at home, it’s highly unlikely they’ll lose two or more of those home games. Your best bet to catch them slipping is on the road. Their four remaining regular season road games, including the matchup against the Timberwolves Monday night, are against the Utah Jazz, Spurs, and the Grizzlies.
