Field Work (Observations)
Banner Good Samaritan Hospital:
The halls reeked with fear; there was an ominous feeling in the air. The rooms were constantly being occupied, up and down, up and down; people, doctors, and patients strolled around. The looks on their faces displayed various emotions that cannot simply be explained with words. Today had not been my greatest day, and clearly I wasn't the only going through a tough time.
I couldn't help but notice, how shady the hospital actually felt and looked. I simply felt I did not belong there, and wanted an immediate out. There were "cute" little drawings of children among the walls, followed by some intricate drawings that truly varied in complexity. I couldn't help but think that these drawings had been strategically placed there in order to try and brighten up the days of some individuals in need. We were fortunate the news he had for us, weren't bad ones. The secretaries on the other hand, didn't seem to have it so easy. I felt they were receiving calls every minute, or so it seemed. They had to demonstrate maturity, and self control, when individuals with attitudes showed
