Both Boehner and Netanyahu broke traditional protocol to come and speak without approval from state dept or executive officials. Democrats began to distance themselves from Israel. Some believe this damaged relations with Israel and may have indirectly supported relations with Iran. Boehner believes US is making too many concessions to Iran and has different policy approaches than Obama. This speech may give Obama more leverage in negotiations with Iran since this shows republicans will be way tougher and they should make a deal before they get into office.
