There is a large literature database that is widely available for the use of rubrics in relation to grading students (Howell 2014). However, the literature found does not directly relate to medical imaging placement assessments. The literature that was used by Kilgour et al. (2014) can be categorized according to the themes in the article. The main themes of the literature include: education, assessment and grading, reliability and research based articles involving statistics. Kilgour et al. (2014) is also impartial to one author, for which he has cited multiple articles. The articles mostly relate the importance of assessments and criterion in student learning and development.
The literature was critically appraised, therefore useful in the support of the findings or lack thereof.
