My Grandmother has inspired me to always fight towards my goals. She would always tell me that the Devil will always make it so you don’t succeed, but with God you can do anything you put your mind too.
With her passing away about a year ago, it had me doing some thinking about what I want to do with my life. I was the first child on my dad side to get my GED and to get an
Associate’s Degree in Computer Programming. I like computers but I enjoy working with the
Elderly. I’m currently a CNA. I love my job because I can watch the change in some of the residents when we do activities and I talk to the about God. I just got a promotion to Activity
Director. I help with doing activities

I can’t stand and sit of too long or I’m back in pain again. I pray that with Gods help I will do a lot in life through his word and way. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me. Is my favorite verse.
My Grandmother has always and will still always be my inspiration. She was a very
Godly woman. Whenever people needed her she was always there to lend a helping hand. She would be singing her favorite song In the Garden and people would just sit and listen to her sing.
We were always in church, she never missed a day until she got ill. I think God for letting her be such a blessing to me and everyone else. I know she is Home with God and is loving it.
Colleen Suitt:
Your grandmother was a wise woman. She would be proud that she has left a legacy in you.

I want to be a CNA because I’m caring and I love to help people especially people who can’t, do for themselves and need some assistance with anything especially elderly people and CNAs. Do so much for the people who are in short and long term facilities. CNAs are the closest thing to them besides their family members. They know almost everything there is to know about their residents. Like some of them tell their CNAs confidential things that they never told anyone before.…

I look up to my grandmother in many ways, because how strong she was during those few months, also in how positive she was staying and she didn't let it get to her. I just remember always walking into her house and seeing her sitting there in her kitchen with here bird sweaters on. Or on Christmas morning seeing her face light up when the family was all together. My most valued memories of her is lunch at Denny's dinner with her and my mom.…

Recently, I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, an inherent, and sometimes spontaneous in my particular disease, that affects the connective tissue, mostly the skin, joints and blood vessels. In my case, I have overly flexible joints that easily allows for dislocation in certain areas of my body if i'm not too careful. People with EDS adapt to a healthy, exercise-affiliated lifestyle because there is no set cure. Yes, it definitely is quite the burden to bear but I do know it could be so much worse and I thank God everyday that it's not. I know that I can guarantee the chances of walking again as long as I know my limits. I have the power to become independent again and the self determination that I've developed over the years will not tolerate any loss of hope from here on.…

I first thought I was going to change the world or at least make a difference through physical therapy. That was what I had my mind set on, even throughout high school. But then my world turned a complete 180. I had to move to Nowhere, Texas with my mom, dad, two older sisters, and their kids (my niece and nephew); Charlotte and Cillian. It was weird, hard, and the last thing I ever wanted. Although the move had nothing to do with my career goals, it was another thing that I questioned along with everything that was going on in my life at the time.…

Even to this day, I don't know how my grandma had so much love for someone who she could barely remember. Yet, since my grandma's condition was bad I naturally helped out my family with my great grandma. I would bring in and out sodas for her since she had a mad addiction to the fizzy drink, and sometimes I would bring her hot meals. Even though doing all of that was great, my favorite thing to do for her was to keep her company. On the most beautiful of days, we would go out and sit on the neon yellow swing set in front of our house in early afternoons when the leaves were turning a beautiful shade of brown and the weather was just the right temperature. The wind sang alluring songs in your ears as the branches of the lush trees danced to the melody. I can picture it just like it was yesterday. The pond next to us glimmered a light blue color as the swing squeaked in glee. She would sing the same tune each time and i would drift into a world of peace and tranquility where nothing else mattered at that moment. But as a little girl, I took those special moments for granted. I was too oblivious to know that good things don't last forever, they never…

I absolutely love my job. I love going into work and saying hi to all my oldies! I won’t be a CNA for the rest of my life. I am going to school to be an RN then transfer to Indiana University or University of Indianapolis to get my BSN. I will miss my oldies when I leave, but when I do leave, I will leave that place knowing that I have hopefully made a difference in that facility. They are all my best friends and I love them to death! Hopefully some day when I get old and put into a facility I will have a CNA that will care about me as much as I care about them…

Have you ever had someone to help guide you when you didn’t know what to do? For me, my grandmother, Sheila, is that person. Sheila is extremely beautiful, she’s heavyset and she has curly, black and grey hair. There hasn’t been one time when I was in need, and she wasn’t there for me. My grandmother have always lived pretty close to where I live. All my life, my grandmother has been the nicest person. Even though she was the nicest person she could also be the meanest at times. My grandmother would get mad when things didn’t go her way or when someone didn’t do something how she wanted. Even though she would have her attitudes she would never get mad at me. She always made me feel special, as if I were her favorite. My grandmother is my mentor in life and she is greatly appreciated.…

As far back as I can remember there has never been a doubt in my mind that I should be in the healthcare field. Like so many other children I can recall telling my mother that I wanted to be a nurse and work in a hospital. I was never dissuaded from following my dream; my mother always encouraged me to do my best in life, and as a result I was the first person in my family of six to graduate from high school. I can recall her saying how proud she was on the first day I headed off to culinary arts school.…

I have learned from my past mistakes and do everything within my reach to do what I didn't do when I was younger. I have changed and learned to love and appreciate my family for who and what they are, regardless of our past differences. I now help my sister as much as I can and tutor her so she can one day be prepared to get her G.E.D. I have let my mistakes inspire me to be better not bury me in sorrow and regret. My sister indeed has become one of the many reasons why I have decided to pursue a career in education and hopefully in the future become an elementary teacher. I want to use my skills to better students and expand their knowledge and critical thinking.…
