I hope your start to school has been as easy as could be as much as I miss summer I cannot wait for all the events to come. Example being our Region 4 picnic Saturday, August 26th, 2017 at Hulda Crooks park. I am so proud of each and every one of you. I remember serving as a president and it being such a stressful but rewarding opportunity. I see your clubs through social media and astonished by the level of commit and drive you have. It brings a smile to my face to see so much growth and confidence radiating from you all. As board you all will create life changing memories for members new and old. Take the time to appreciate your hardwork cause that sure doesn’t go unnoticed. A poll was sent out earlier this week to see what

Good evening everyone, I hope everyone is enjoying their night. My name is Keyona and I was the one of the 4 captains chosen for the 2011 Montclair High School Cheerleading Squad. During my 3 years on the squad, I’ve had so many memories, good and bad, that helped me grow as a person. Cheerleading throughout my high school career took part in shaping me as the person I am today. I’d like to congratulate this year’s squad for making it through the season successfully as a new team. There were a lot of ups and downs, but I think we handled each situation well. As the season progressed, I’ve formed bonds with many of the girls on the team that will last me way beyond my high school experience. Some of the girls I think more of sisters than team mates. You guys made my experience more than enjoyable by joking, laughing, and having fun every time I stepped through gym doors. Even if my day was horrible, SOMEONE made me laugh or smile and my frown was quickly turned upside down. I’d like to thank Ms. Rob and Ms. HB for giving me the opportunity to be captain this year. They taught me to have a tough skin and to keep my head up in any situation I face in life. If I had the choice to pick different coaches for the squad, I wouldn’t because nobody could take their place in my eyes. Most importantly, I’d like to thank my mother Lisa White for motivating me and being there whenever I needed her. Even though she punished me every Saturday after each home game with washing loads of dishes from when she made cookies the night before, it was worth it. Overall, the season was unforgettable and I wouldn’t give my spot up as captain for the world. Thank you guys and enjoy the rest of your time here at the…

Thank you so much for all that you do for Howard County. Mount Hebron High School is greatly appreciative of your help in creating a better school environment. The 2,000 dollar grant has been used to create a native plant garden in the senior courtyard. We decided that native plants would be the best plan as it conserves water, time, and money. This way we could do more with the money that was graciously given. It would be our greatest honor to have you attend the Mount Hebron ribbon cutting ceremony in the early fall of 2017. You would be able to see all the effort and work that the Mount Hebron staff and students have put into this project. We thank you for your time and we really hope that you will be able to…

Odle. I’m not sure when you are going to read this, but I’m gonna go off on a limb and say it's probable that it is after wednesday; I just wanted to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed your class for the semester I have had it, and I have honestly not seen the level of dedication you have to the subject in any other history teacher at McCallie. No, this is not an attempted to salvage a grade or anything of that manner, just my honest, legitimate opinion that I find easier to give in the form of text than through speech. I hope you have a splendid summer, and from the kid that often forgets to remove his hat; take care.…

It has gone so incredibly fast. I can honestly say that I am going to miss this class. I am not going to miss the drive to Collinsville, though. I feel that I have grown a great bit while making my way through this Cross Cultural cluster. I never once dreaded having to work all day and then having to go to class and sit for four hours. My classmates are great. As a class, we always made it fun and entertaining. I do hope that I am blessed with having them in class with the rest of my journey seeking my bachelor’s degree. I have plenty of class left to conquer. Lastly, thank you, Professor Anderson! You made this cluster to be unlike any that I have experienced thus far. You made me feel comfortable from day one. I am a real big fan of your spontaneousness and flexibility. You could really feel your passion each night we met. You could tell you wanted to be there teaching us. Again, thank you. And, it would bring me great joy to have you again as my…

The North American bison, more commonly known as the American buffalo, is the largest land animal in North America. Bison are on average more than six feet tall and weigh in at over a ton. These proud and majestic animals were once the dominant species of the North American continent, covering an astonishing majority of the continent from northern Canada to northern Mexico and from what is now western New York to what is now eastern Washington. It is estimated by today’s scientists that there were over 30 million bison in North America prior to the arrival of European settlers. “Even in South Central Africa, which has always been exceedingly prolific in great herds of game, it is probable that all its quadrupeds taken together on an equal area would never have more than equaled the total number of buffalo in this country forty years ago.” (Hornady, 1889, p387). This great animal was the life’s blood of the Native American people and was used for everything from food to clothing and tools for just about any everyday job. Although North American Bison were hunted by Native Americans for centuries, western expansion in the 1800s brought the bison to near extinction.…

Throughout the past four years as a player on the Northview soccer team, I have had you as my coach, which you already knew. Though it probably was not in your control at all, I want to thank you for being there with me this whole time. I have often felt a sense of discomfort among the other people on the team, and a sense of fear that things would not improve, but it was nice to always know that, if all else failed, you’d be at every practice, making fun of me and trying to trip me.…

I admire you as a student, fellow musician and as a friend. You have always accelerated in whatever you have tried. I know that you’ll have a great musical career whether it be teaching or playing (or some of both). You are so smart and funny. It is hard to believe that before Marching Band, I didn’t know you at all and know I feel like I know too much of you. You are are very, very, very talented Clarinet player and I admire you in every single way. You have changed me, you make me want to be a better clarinet player every single day. Whether it be acing warm-ups or playing the show with full dynamics. Hello, I am so honored to speak in front of all the parents, staff and my fellow students today. Wow guys we made it! These past 3 years have been full of so many memories that I know we’ll never forget. Think all the way back to 6th grade we were always the littlest ones and I remember feeling like a fish out of water. We were terrified of getting lost or being late for class, but excited to have a locker to decorate and change classes each period. It doesn’t seem like that was over 2 years ago at all. We came back in 7th grade, much more confident than the year before. We looked down to the new 6th graders, asking "Were we really that short just last year?" And by the end of 7th grade I was shocked that I was officially an 8th grader. 8th grade is defiantly my favorite year. I feel like I have everything under control. But next year is full of changes. We'll have free periods, more homework, electives, and an open campus. The new choices also bring new responsibilities that test us in figuring out how we grow from kids to adults. As we say goodbye on the last day we sit together as Balboa students, we reflect on what has happened the past 3 years, but also look forward to what is coming up in the next 4 years. My advice to future 8th graders is to keep up with your school work and try your absolute best and make lots of good, loyal friends that don’t get you in the bad kind of crowd. And most importantly, have fun! This is the last year you will be the oldest in the school for another 4 years, so enjoy it! I’d like to finish this speech off with this quote : A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others.-Ayn Rand…
