Grey's Anatomy Character Analysis
How to Save a Life WARNING: may contain some spoilers. Watching Grey’s Anatomy is like falling in love and having your heart broken into a million pieces, but you love it so much you feel that it is okay, so you cannot bear to leave. This is a feeling this show gives me, along with millions of other fans and viewers. Many of the characters go through some seriously dramatic issues, which is why it reels you in so deep. In my opinion, more viewers mean a greater success. Grey’s Anatomy is very successful, due to all of the drama, love, and plot line because of three very important episodes to me: “Bring the Pain”, “Flight”, and “How to Save a Life”.
Grey’s Anatomy aired March 27, 2005, an evening that was much anticipated. According to Wikipedia,

Meredith gives Derek an ultimatum; her or Addison, followed by a heart felt speech given by Meredith. “Your choice, it’s simple. Her, or me. And I’m sure she’s really great. But Derek, I love you. In a… really, really big… pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window, unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love me. So pick me, choose me, love me.” (Meredith Grey, speeches.com). Meredith goes to the local bar, waiting for Derek to show up as the episode ends, making viewers dedicated to the next Sunday night to see if Derek ever comes. This show intrigues me with interest, so this past summer, I re-binge-watched the entire series, having this being my favorite episode because of the speech Meredith gives Derek. Many other people would probably have chosen a more exciting episode to …show more content…
Meredith, Yang, Shepherd, Little Grey (Meredith’s younger half sister), Sloan (Little Greys love interest/ Derek’s best friend), Robbins (PEDs surgeon), and a pilot were aboard a plane that crashes in the middle of the woods, leaving them dying and stranded. This episode shows, Lexie “little” Grey dies under part of the plane with Mark Sloan shouting his love for her, Derek far away with his “million dollar hand” stuck in a plane wing, Meredith looking for Derek, Yang dying to find her left shoe, and Robbins crying and staring at her femur sticking out. Meredith finds Derek and stitches up the arm he previously freed from the wing, while trying to stay awake hoping help will come soon. The episode ended season 8 until the following September, when season 9 began. “This finale got roughly 11.44 million views airing night, almost 2 million more than the week before.”(Wikipedia.com). Grey’s Anatomy, overall, has a reputation for making people sit on their couches with a box of tissues. I tend to host a Grey’s viewing party for every season premiere and finale and this specific episode had my guests and I in awe over what just occurred; making us want the next season to come on the next

Having proved her mettle for 12 years, fans are however not convinced of the fact that the phasing out of the character is for good, and are therefore freaked out at her sudden revelation on Twitter.
