specifically in the hip, the legs widened, away form the midline of the body ensuring an increase in stability and balance of the tackler. This action abduction of the legs in order to increase stability develops prior to contact. This way the tackler can prepare a stable stance in order to with-take maximal force whilst completing a successful tackle against the ball carrier running into contact with the tackler. Use diagrams and descriptions to explain two key biomechanics concepts and principles necessary for successful performance. For a successful and effective action of the rugby tackle, biomechanics concepts and principles are necessary to do so.…
Preventing collision-tackles in football, which is being played by children in youth leagues, can reduce the risk of those collisions leading to life-threatening health issues. Mike Webster, Joseph Chernach, and Chris Borland all either have concerns of brain injuries or already have them, primarily CTE; All three of these individuals have the same common denominator, they played tackle football at a young age. This common factor should be addressed to reduce those high risks of brain injuries, however still give aspiring athletes the opportunity to lead or pursue a successful football career like Tom Brady, Peyton and Eli…

When playing football you need to always be thinking on the run. In the debate over the importance of physical prowess and mental agility in sports, Sanneh and Heinrich have similar views, with Sanneh supporting the idea that mental strength and agility has a contribute in football in “What Could Be Better Than A Touchdown?” and Heinrich suggesting that mental strength and agility is also used in running and “Why We Run” has a lot of examples of that.…
The 9/11 attack was a tragedy in the United States. There were two planes with terrorists inside. The twin towers were unprepared as the planes flew into both of the twin towers. The outside world devastated as nearly three thousand people died. The building had toppled and the fire that burned helped the incendiaries in their mission to kill as many as possible, because the fire trapped and cornered the employees in the paramount edifice with no way to exit. This depredation would change the United States of America forever. In the rebuilding process of Ground Zero, Tower one represents healing, hope, and those that had died.…

In "What is the Safest Sprint Starting Position for American Football Players[,]” medical professionals Bruno Bonnechere, Benoit Beyer, Marcel Rooze and Jan Serge Van Sint, provide information on how starting sprint positions can affect American football players. Bonnechere et al. support their claims by collecting measurements of the head, trunk, and field-of-view of 2-, 3-, and 4-point positions using twenty-five young males Out of the twenty-five participants, thirteen were used as the control group. Their purpose is to demonstrate three different starting positions and deem which position is the safest. Additionally, the authors attempt to bring about awareness of concussions in the NFL and how a football player can prevent them from happening by choosing the safest sprint stance. [Where is your thesis? Place your thesis at the last part of the introduction so readers can easily see it.]…
This is a new concept being studied. There is currently no research that studies throwing performance of goalball athletes. The authors in this article say that this investigation is just the first step, and that future researchers should use clinical 3-D kinematic analysis to gain even more knowledge on this subject. The information obtained from this study will benefitathletes who play goalball and more importantly the coaches that coach goalball.…
Furthermore, a 4-point starting position entails beginning in the squat position with one’s front knee over as well as all two hands on the start line. The back knee is placed in the field next to one’s front ankle. The 3-point starting positions are similar to a 4-point start, except that only one arm is put on the ground. While in 2-point starting position, there is no arm is on the ground. According to the study, head redress is often delayed whenever adopting a 4-point starting position, thus, resulting to a reduced FOV (field of vision) all through the start, as well as increasing the likelihood of collision. Also, in the 4-point starting position, this appears as being the most dangerous as it results in greater kinetic energy as compared to 3-point as well as 2-point positions. Results proposed that a 4-point start position is of the utmost hazard for football players. However, a 4-point starting position is the largest used technique in almost every sport and players prefer it as compared to 3-point and 2-point starting…

This program is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to make the best of the athlete’s physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains. “This definition of fitness encompasses all types of fitness: Cardiovascular and Respiratory Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance and Accuracy” (Sibley, 2012, p. 42). Most if not all are needed in the game of football. Being bigger, faster, stronger is the goal! If a player can accomplish gains in those areas they will be a more dominant athlete in football.…
The game of football (AFL) is one that requires a variety in movement patterns and intensity efforts based on positions and gameplay situations. With the variety movement patterns and efforts interplay is a huge part of the game with a constant change in the dominant energy systems between aerobic, and anaerobic systems. AFL requires players to also be able to perform a number of fitness components at an elite level, which can be tested by completing a number of fitness test.…
We sought to investigate other research on this topic and address any issues in relation to kicking power. We hypothesised that training with minimal strength sessions per week can lead to an increase in kicking power in soccer. Several studies have explored strength training and kicking power but have not directly addressed several important training variables within their designs, such as volume of training like 3 sets of 10 repetitions not to failure vs. 1 set of 8-12 repetitions to failure Kramer et al. (1997), duration of the training period about 10vs more than 20 minutes Folland (2002), or training intensities 70 vs. 100% maximal contraction Kanehisa and Miyashita (2002). Other studies used kicking power tests while fatigued Kells et al. (2006), or the use of instep kicking Manolopoulos (2004), weight-lifting training combined with plyometric Perez-Gomez et:al, combined strength and kick coordination Manolopoulos et al. (2006), single-joint movements and isokinetic or isometric machines (Kells et al. 2006; Rooney et al. 1994).…
Since middle school, I have been playing the game of football, and I’ve loved it ever since. Being a bigger kid, I always have played the offensive line and defensive line positions. These positions require the actions of blocking and tackling. I enjoyed blocking and tackling so playing the game was very fun for me. Throughout the years I have enjoyed working hard to make my performance better. Countless hours of practicing and lifting weights have been a big part of my life. This game requires a lot of dedication, which is why I love it. When I reached the college football level I received a huge awakening. The differences between the two levels helped me learn more about the game of football.…
In modern day, training for professional athletes has become more advanced. I wanted to look at some of the techniques for training that are used by professional baseball players. The reason that I chose this topic is because baseball is my favorite sport and I thought it would be interesting to see how the professionals train. The spheres that I will focus on for Physical Activity Experience is Health, and the spheres of Scholarly Study that I will be focusing on are History and Motor Behavior. “There’s a power shift underway in Major League Baseball……
