There were many types of ground sloths which lived within the past at approximately 1,000kg, 20 foot in length and 12 feet tall they were known to be the size of elephants! They lived within forests and woods but also lived within the Pleistocene (The Great Ice Age) which made it difficult as most of the land and oceans were covered in ice and glaziers. The Giant Ground Sloths lived in these environments as they were herbivores, as of their peg-like teeth. But they also had beneficial adaptations such as their long-curved claws which were perfect for reaching high branches and stripping leaves, as well as protection from predators.
