Her tireless efforts ensured that the arrival of everything needed was delivered on site and ahead of schedule. She operated for more than 40 hours in a two week time span, resulting in 1,000 mishap free miles. EO3’s efforts directly increased mission readiness to the ends of the battalions AORs. Simultaneously her efforts reduced costs to the Battalion, customers, and the Navy through the implementation of an aggressive project planning training course. Resulting in less waste and better understanding in estimating computations. She lead several different fire teams in battalion organizations, leading junior troops in the preemptive assessment, correction, and detailed preparation, her determination and commitment resulted in the highest score at the most recent TCRA inspection. EO3 was directly involved in training and licensing of members in the Alfa Yard, increasing the Alfa Company’s effectiveness and versatility
by 75%.
3. Description of collateral duties (Company, Dept, Det, Battalion): Additionally, her initiative and devotion is apparent in her involvement to take on the Collateral Custodian Representative position. She is actively involved in battalion level meetings, constructed a yard specific safety board, updates it with relevant information, and promotes a safe work environment with evident pride both in lecture and in practice. EO3’s efforts pay out in the form of ZERO safety mishaps and ZERO near misses in the yard despite hectic daily demands in an industrial environment.
4. Command and Community involvement: Displaying superb initiative, EO3 Gunther was influential in the establishment of in rate training and volunteered to teach the several sailors in learning how to properly follow the procedures of 3M maintenance, who checked on board eager to share her experience learned in her 3 years in NMCB One she is recognized top performer throughout battalion. EO3 trained and engaged over five troops in SCWS board prep and study, motivating her fire team relentlessly, resulting in two members becoming SCW qualified.
5. Significant self-improvement: Motivated! EO3 has really owned all her responsibilities and eagerly accepts new ones. She has committed to completing her Associates Degree in Accounting, as well as being currently enrolled in the first Equipment Operator “C” school in January of 2018 to further her rate knowledge. EO3 follows through and never loses grip despite constant change and new demands. Her intense team-oriented spirit invokes her troops to push themselves to new limits. 6. Other accomplishments: Selflessly volunteered her time in being an actively involved member in CAT Team, eagerly learning about command climate and leadership core values. She also volunteered for the flag raising ceremony during the 4th of July holiday weekend. All of her volunteer efforts has totaled over 20 hours of service to date.
