As a manager you always have to work hard to keep yourself up to date on what is happening in and out of your business, always have to look at internal and external factors. Through the success and failures of Harleys’ Company from the beginning up to now, the company has faced difficult challenges. At their early stage the business/organisation was successful, and problems started after a leveraged buy-out. Workers did not have a clear understanding of the vision, mission and goals of the organisation. When new managers where elected, they did not see the importance of communication between them and their workers.
As time continued they learned the importance of a strong relationship between them and their workers. They saw that a good relationship and communication with workers can assist in the advancement of opportunities that comes in a work place, like workers could update them on what is going underground and maybe what their competitors up too. A good conversation happened between a Vice President and Machinist; Machinist saw that the Vice President was new in the organisation then offered to buy him coffee of which that was one of the major components of Harley Davison’s corporate culture.
