Harrison Bergeron
I can't believe I really thought you were different, different than all the guys out there. Everyone kept warning me: he's a player, don’t fall for him. But I was too blinded by all the sweet things you told me, the way you always know what to say to me to make me melt. I kept telling myself you weren't that person when you were with me. I actually thought you cared about me. But you know what, I finally opened my eyes and saw the truth I didn't want to see. You’re just the same, you're not that perfect guy. You're just a very experienced liar. It was all a game..
- Unknown

You know what?
I thought you were different,
I really did. I thought you weren't like all those jerky guys who come into a girls life and quickly leave. I (honestly thought) you cared about me and you meant it when you said that you loved me.
But you aren't different than those other guys. I guess I thought wrong.

She really thought you were different in the back of her mind she knew to be careful from previous experiences, but something about you made her leave her guard down. She thought you were the one to change her view on guys. She put total trust in you. All those nights talking on the phone, those webcam dates, using thousands of texts when talking on the phone wasn’t possible. The conversations exchanged between you two the things you've told her. how is it possible for you to leave her without a second thought about how she would react? Do you feel any guilt? Does the fact that her smile disappeared not keep you up at night making you think about what you've done? Or are you busy talking on the phone with the girl you left her for?

like her to think she can have me, but i don’t want to come across that way, if you get what i mean.

Roses are red. Violets are blue. I said I loved you. But what did you do? You broke my heart. Ripped it out of my chest. i thought you were different. But you were just like the rest. Every now and then I hear our song play.

Well Kim I admit I did sext Natalie. I'm a man and should learn and realize what I did was wrong. I shouldn't have done something like that to someone who treated me better than Amie. I just fell for it since guys are perverted and I pressure myself to do it. I seriously loved you, I know I broke you heart. You guys chose to scam me I have nothing against that, since I did something I shouldn't have and should of got scammed for it. I'm very sorry but please forgive me I don't know what to do without you. You meant the whole world to me. I screwed it all up over sexting. I just can't and won't allow to lose you.…

In the dystopian society depicted in Kurt Vonnegut’s, “Harrison Bergeron, ” everyone is made equal. The story begins with, “The year was 2081, and everybody was finally equal. They weren't only equal before God and the law. They were equal every which way” (Vonnegut 1). Not everyone is born equal but the government organization lead by the United States Handicapper General, Diana Moon Glampers, has placed various handicaps on everyone in order to make everyone equal before God and the law. Vonnegut’s use of satire and focus on equality is to show the flawed view we have on it and how it effects society.…

Throughout history a constant loop has appeared over and over again, a battle that is never won but is put to side and forgotten until it chooses to veer it ugly yet attractive head. This battle is the battle of equality to have happened to everyone who fights to reach an imaginary standard of equality. Equality is never defined and never can be because what equality is to a person is always different. Equality could be where white and black people are held at the same pedestal as if there was no difference in skin color or it could be what was achieved in Kurt Vonnegut’s short story “Harrison Bergeron” where everybody is utterly equal from intelligence to talents and skills to even the physical appearance of all. Without a true definition to equality it leaves questions yet to be answered; What role should government play in achieving equality, what could the author of the “Harrison Bergeron” to show about today’s society by writing of a society that achieved total equality and etc., but lets look at the two mentioned questions.…

When I think about now I was really harsh on her I don’t know why exactly I did that, but I guess my anger took over my emotions. It was even more awkward when we were at the hotel, whenever she said something I really wanted to talk back, but I just couldn’t at all. The feeling knowing she is leaving and never coming back hurt me a lot, but she never saw it, because my anger was covering what I really felt inside.…

You only kept me around as a trinket to display at your shows. I do not think I really wanted you, either. We wanted skin, flesh, and talent; we were using each other to get what we wanted, and once we obtained it, the spark that burned between us snuffed out. Maybe I should have taken that night as a sign. Any electrical engineer could never repair your darkness, for you were never a spotlight. You never really lit up my world as I tried to tell myself you did. I press my face against the glass of the window by my bed and breathe. I watch as the air splays out and clouds the outside world in a blanket of fog, and it reminds me of what you once did to my…

And then I would always wake up to the sound of his snoring on the other end of the line. But then the love songs turned to sad song. And as time went on he changed. He was no longer the sweet guy who would always make me laugh even when I thought I would never smile again. No longer the guy who would do anything to spend just a second of his time with me. All of a sudden he couldn’t control his anger anymore. He had sudden outbursts when I least expected it. One day it all just got too much and I left. I enrolled at this school and turned my back on the…

I trusted her and she trusted me. Trust goes a long way until somebody breaks it. It was March and we were watching a movie in her living room. That was until a snapchat popped up on her phone with the name Dalton on it. I never thought anything of it because I trusted her. Time carried on but I couldn’t stop thinking about why she was talking to him. At this point we were two months away from prom. I was getting tailored for my prom suit when I got a text from Alli. She had sent me a long text about how she needed time for herself and that we need to split. It cut deep but I respected her decision. It wasn’t until the next week I couldn’t believe what I was seeing at school. She was holding hands with Dalton in the hallways. What was awful is that they would end up going to prom together.…

So many nights I sit all alone and and I think about you, wondering if you are ever thinking about me too. It is probably unrealistic to think that you might be thinking of me as much. In the silence of the night with the moonlight shining through my window the tears roll down my face because I care so much and in my heart I'm doubtful that you can feel the same. All I ever asked from you is that you give me honesty, even if hurts me.…

I hope you know that I didn't become your friend for any other reason then just to be your friend, and maybe everyone else's comments about us being together slipped into my head to much and everyone telling me how cute we were together or my guy friends telling me you were flirting with me or the fact you always sat next to me that made me think you liked me and shame on me, but you had heard the same things and you continued, so I am done pretending, you need to know you broke my heart. I don't feel like sparing your feelings anymore and preserving this false image of myself that won't help either of us. Maybe if I had told you this sooner, maybe I wouldn't have wasted so much time morning our relationship whatever it was. I hate sounding like that over dramatic scene in a movie.…

I wonder if Mom heard one of my songs on the radio yet, if she even recognized that it was her baby boy singing the melodies. Does Dad still think this is some crazy dream that I’ve been chasing? Or will he be proud of the man I’ve finally become? I hope they can forgive me for just leaving them. And little Ariel, I hope she understands that it was never her fault, that she was why it took me so long to leave. I never wanted or ment to hurt her. Her innocence was always something I was jealous of, and it amazed me how for such a young girl she understood so much more about the world than I ever did.…
