Fields’ recipe is perseverance, which translates to never giving up. According to the presentation, one of the reasons that it is important to never give up is that there are likely to be obstacles that will slow down progress toward goals. By not giving up, you will look for alternate ways to accomplish goals rather than buying into the idea that they cannot be accomplished.
The fourth ingredient of Mrs. Fields’ recipe is people power, which translates to having positive people around you. Those positive people may either be people with similar goals as you or people who want to see you succeed at your goals. Having people around with similar goals will help to establish an environment where everyone is able to put forth the effort required to accomplish that goal. Likewise, having people around who want to see you succeed at your goals is useful because it helps to setup a network of support.
