This word is an effective description because after one of his lowest points, where he wanted to end it all, he says, “And the other one was that he would not die, he would not let death in again.” (Passage E). When he was at the lowest point in his life he decided to end it all, but when he woke up in the morning he was so angry. He was angry that he let his mind go there, that he even contemplated killing himself. After this he showed a determination. He was determined that he was going to make it out alive and that he was not going to let death back into his thoughts. He then began telling himself that he had to do something different. He knew he needed to quickly rebuild the fire, eat and get hydrated. He knew if he didn’t start to do something quickly, everything he worked himself up for, would be for nothing. After Brian was run over by the tornado and a moose, the text states, “Come on, he thought, baring his teeth in the darkness-come on. Is that the best you can do?
