Health promotion is defined as a dynamic process in which behaviors are intended to expand the positive health potential by increasing well being of the individual and actualizing human potential through participation in a lifestyle that supports a holistic perspective of health (Pender, Murdaugh, & Law, 2011). Health promotion programs helps build on encouraging and empowering individual to take more control of their health and reduce their risk of diseases as well as disabilities that might arise. The primary goal of a health proposal strategy is to expand, increase awareness, and improves health among a targeted, vulnerable population. Health promoting is an utmost primary concern for Federal, State, and County level. Residents in the state
Hesperia is identified as California desert vegetation and sits on 35 miles northern side of San Bernardino county, mountain, and national forest (Figure 1). Hesperia is a neighbor of Apple Valley, Victorville, and Oak Hills. San Bernardino County is the fifth largest county in the United States with an area of 20,105 square miles, and the fifth most populated (2,035,210) in the state of California (Figure 2) (San Bernardino, DPH). The city population as of the 2015 census estimates 92, 755 persons. The city of Hesperia is often referred to as high desert due to its geographical location, which sits approximately 3,000-feet above the sea level. Although Hesperia is not the only city regarded as high desert. Mountains and elevation are commonly used to differentiate each city from low to high desert. For example, the city of Palm Springs, California approximately 50-miles beyond the San Gorgonio Mountain and to the south east of Hesperia is regarded as a low desert. It is considered low desert due to its elevation below the sea level and few feet above sea level (Wikipedia,
