Goals and Context
My Goal is to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Community and Human Services with a concentration in Health Services Administration. This program is designed for a broad range of students and working professionals with an interest in enhancing the quality of life of individuals and families in need through the development and administration of agencies involved in service delivery.
Initially I started with the City University of New York. I took some courses at York College and Hunter College and later transferred to Empire State College. I had degree program at ESC approved in the Business, Management and Economics area of study with a concentration in Business Administration but I found out I was not fulfilled in that field

healthcare system. Issues in Health Policy and Management will help me understand and analyze the impact of various regulatory entities on the operations of healthcare organizations. Legal and Ethical Issues in Health Services will examine ethical theories and the principles of bioethics and apply them to ethical problems in the healthcare field. Crisis intervention will focus on dealing with the crisis when they arise. It will teach me how to remain calm, respectful, and professional when dealing with challenging or aggressive behavior in a wide range of workplace environments. I also asked my Director in my place of work who is a Social Worker to go over my degree plan. She went through and saw that Empire State College has a defined program that instills in their students an appreciation of the ever-changing character of the health professions, to provide an opportunity for broad general education and to inspire students to pursue graduate study in specialized fields of interest.     Measels, also known as rubeola, is a viral respiratory illness. Although vaccination is available in developed countries, it remains one of the leading causes of death among children worldwide (CDC, 2013). The degree of contagiousness of measles contributes to this alarming statistic. The first sign of measles is often an extremely elevated temperature and lasts for approximately one week. Other signs and symptoms include cold-like symptoms such as cough, watery eyes, and a runny nose. Also, small white lesions are visible on the interior of the mouth. A hallmark indication of the measles respiratory virus is the rash presenting on the face and neck, which spreads with time to the limbs. There is no antiviral for the measles at present time. However, a definitive treatment has been identified. Vitamin A supplements, two doses given 24 hours apart, have been proven to reduce the number of deaths resulting from this virus by half (WHO, 2014).
