Riverside was even bigger than his last school. That scared him a lot. Hector was certain it would be difficult to fit in to his new classroom. All he knew about Riverside, or his class was that Mrs. Robinson was his teacher’s name, nothing else and that worried him a lot!

Tally was Hector’s last reminder of his dad and his best friend too.
Tally was like one dreamy creamsicle. Her rich, orange and white fur was as soft as a fluffy cloud. One deep gaze from Tally's striking, grey - green eyes was as if she looked right into Hector's sole. With a simple glance, Taly affirmed her intelligence and strong connection with Hector.
Tally loved getting attention. Often times, she would paw Hector to pick her up and be placed on his lap. Contently, Tally would stay for an hour or so. Then, she would go to playfully check out the rest of Hector's family.
Tally also loved to drag her blanket around and make kitty biscuits with it, before finally falling asleep on it. She loved to play, especially with string toys, her kickaroo, balls and mice. No one understood Hector as well as Tally did. To his mom and everyone else Tally’s meows sounded nothing like words, but Hector knew better. He could understand Tally as if she was actually talking to him. More than once, her advice and loyalty had been all Hector needed to get through the most difficult
