¨A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.¨ As said by Christopher Reeve, a hero doesn't have to have super powers, they can be a ordinary person with a strong will to persevere and succeed. Throughout the challenges that may crumble others, a person must stay persistent and brave, refusing to sway in the wind. A hero perseveres when things get rough, shows courage in the face of danger, and do not neglect the needs of others through their actions. Heroes are reluctant to quitting and persist through the challenges weighing them down. For example, as said by Frederick Douglass, throughout his escape from slavery, he ¨remained firm and according to my resolution… I left my chains.¨(SB 71) Douglass persevered through his challenges and didn't buckle under the pressure and difficulty. In addition, Tristan Segers, a soldier that had lost his leg overseas, still lives life to the fullest.Even with his injuries, Segers ¨..has run a marathon… nothing is stopping him.¨as said by Gale Fiege. …show more content…
For example the poem A Man by Nina Cassian paints a picture of the struggle of a man who lost in arm in battle, the fear he faces, and how he has the courage to overcome it. He ¨...was suddenly afraid...there will be things I cannot do at all...From that moment on he set himself to do everything with twice as much enthusiasm.¨ The man even through troubles, still has the bravery to go on and try harder instead of giving up. Another example includes the story of Summer Stoutes, a woman who willingly donated her kidney to a desperate family for their daughter. Despite the dangers, Stoutes still has the valor to give to others.By never giving up due to injuries and giving to others despite the possible consequences, both of these examples display the courage necessary to form a
