I think people get involved in crime because they might get bored as the environment they live in has no clubs, parks etc.
Even though the crime rates have dropped lately there are still loads of different crimes happening around us e.g. tax dodging, fraud and assault. I think to lower the crime rates in Scotland we need more activities for younger people in the community. If we just have some more sport clubs and youth clubs.
A youth in the Scotland community admitted to 83 criminal offences quoted from the council.
This table shows that from 1999 to 2005 shows us that from 1999 to 2005 have risen a little but still quite high.
Another reason why young people might get involved in crime is because their parents don’t love them and they feel they’re alone in the world and don’t know what’s right and wrong. Another way why they might get involved in crime is poor education because if they receive poor education it might mean they think doing wrong is right and don’t think crime is against the law and receive a criminal record.
Another way of getting involved in crime is if your friends peer pressure you into drinking smoking cannabis etc. this might lead into crime as many of the young offenders think this is an excuse for committing a crime.
In conclusion I think that young people get involved in crime because they either have no loving parents or theirs no activities or clubs for them to keep them off the streets.
