Established in 1970, it has been one of the necessities to visit in Ames. Not only does Hickory Park offer food in its restaurant, it also offers catering services and a banquet facility for special occasions. Hickory Park restaurant definitely won’t be slowing down anytime soon. Service is a very popular element in a casual dining restaurant. During my experience, the service turned out to be pretty good. If I had to give it a number between one being terrible and ten being terrific, I would give it an eight. When I visited Hickory Park, I was with my high school speech group, which had about 15 people in it. That weekend, like usual, Ames was hosting the large group all-state speech festival. This draws in a ton of people to Ames. Hickory Park is where everyone wants to eat; and I mean everyone! So like I expected, we had to wait outside for about 30 minutes because the restaurant was full. I know that there is not much they can do about the restaurant being full. That is just something people who visit during busy times have to deal with. One way to avoid people standing outside would be to make a bigger waiting

Jefferson City, commonly referred to as “Jeff” or “Jeff City” and abbreviated as “JC” and “JCMO”, is the capital of the American state of Missouri. Originally called Lohman’s Landing, it started out as an unassuming settlement of explorers. In 1821, the town was declared state capital and subsequently given the name Missouriopolis, until in 1826 it was ultimately renamed after the third United States president Thomas Jefferson. Throughout its history, Jefferson City became prominent for the Missouri State Penitentiary, a prison that was opened from 1836 to 2004, earning the gruesome epithet of the “bloodiest 47 acres in America.” Today, Jeff City has a population of 43,079 and a wider metropolitan area of 149,807, which makes it the 15th largest…

Texas Roadhouse was the dinner place of choice for my family and me the other night; it wouldn’t be the first time we decided to dine at this local restaurant just a few short miles from our current residence. My family and I decided to dine in at Texas Roadhouse not only because of its excellent convenience; located in the center of an outdoor shopping mall that consisted of many shops such as, Wal-Mart, Target and Kohl’s to name a few in which two of those stores required my consideration for a product I was in search of that night but also Texas Roadhouse reminds you of the good ole western roots in which we take part of on a daily basis here in Gilbert, Arizona. I will be evaluating the pros and cons of Texas Roadhouse, three criteria will be used: the total cost must not exceed $25 per person; the menu as well as the establishment must be kid friendly, and reasonable wait times.…

Everyone is aware of the name Wake Forest University carries. Obviously, I too want to be part of the Demon Decan Community. Wake Forest embodies the community spirit that encourages intellectualism and promotes civic engagement. The biggest reason for transferring to Wake Forest University is the philosophy of educating the whole person. As an Aga Khan Foundation Youth Ambassador, I was heavily involved with sustainable projects that had a purpose of solving challenges the ambassadors identified in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Neither of our projects were one day projects, or charitable in any sense. Because the Aga Khan Foundation focuses on sustainable development, the ambassadors make sure to model the work and “Think globally, act locally.” Rooted deep into Wake Forest’s community is the…

The typical wait to be seated during this time was about 1-2 minutes. Another…
